Overcoming the psycho-emotional inertia of being on a track that defines a big part of your sense of self and the fear that changing lanes or taking the next exit means a significant loss of income.
Oooo, I'm doing this now. Here's a short list:
- am I making the right decision or is this another mistake?
- do I know what I'm getting myself into?
- can I do this?
- how long will it take?
- am I kidding myself?
- can I remember how to study again?
- will the sacrifice be worth it?
- which thing should I learn first?

I switched from corporate to in-house, then to agency creative (jumped over the jr role because my background helped a bit), then switched to strategy to make more money, I did, but then I felt like a fish out of the water with a learned skill, so now I’m going back to creative and it’s weird but exciting. At the end, I’m going to do what I like/love.

Young(er) people are young by age, but not “by life.” They can die sooner than you, and vice-versa: You might be older “by life” and you should hurry up and do what you love. Living has to be of urgency. Don’t take your days for granted.
*finishes joint and does a burn out in an El Camino — disappears into the sunset*
*you’re left coughing as your friend walks up and asks who that was*
*you pick-up the burnt roach and as you look at it, you mumble* I don’t know, dude. I don’t... know...
Whoever you are, I hope I work with you because this is awesome.
