If it is a redesign project, this is how I approach;
1. Create a creative brief; identify what the goals are, KPIs are, and so on.
2. Collect data if available
3. Research context, brainstorm, create a mood board
4. Create at least 3 concepts
5. Present to clients/stakeholders and gather feedbacks
6. Revise
7. Review with them again and get approval
8. Create annotation/specs to dev and FAs
Also if you have access to users doing some quick generative interviews could lead to unique discoveries.
Just like a typical design process.
1. Research context
2. Draft concepts
3. Get stakeholders feedback
4. Revise design
5. Final stakeholders approval
6. Ship design specs to tech
Making in Sketch would be my pick and prototype with invision.
Please feel free to share any articles or personal experiences. I’m working on my first app project. I want to make sure it’s a success and I don’t overlook anything.
Here’s some quick context:
• This is a redesign project.
• Development is being outsourced.
• I am the only designer. Company doesn’t have traditional Design leadership hierarchy (no Design Lead, CD, etc above me).
