Got called Friday at 1pm saying I could only bill 10hrs next week and had to roll off after due to budget. Wow thanks its not like you had a budget excel sheet and could have told me this atleast...
Roll off pushed out for another 6 weeks. Guess my MD saw his own shadow while leaving the bathroom.
Has anyone here actually been on bench since quarantine started? Rather, as of recent, what’s the longest y’all have been on the bench.
ON THE BENCH!! After almost 2 years of being on different projects, couldn’t be happier for a little break. What do folks do on the bench to enjoy it to the max? Do tell! 🤗
I don’t understand how people keep posting about the bench and being unassigned. I’m in advisory(not audit) and my entire LoS is trending 90%+ utilization
As a new joiner to the firm, how many weeks of bench time are considered ok ? And when should I start looking outside ?
Acn people: Got a generic email from TFS taking about things to do when on the bench, it also mentioned we must now be in the local office everyday, legit or ignore?
Need advice for resigning while on bench. I already have a start date with the new employer. Should I do a traditional two week notice or give <=1 week notice instead? My goal is to not burn bridges, but I also don’t want to get let go on the spot since I have nothing to “wrap up” besides HR tasks. I’ve read on here that sometimes they will let you go day of and pay you out for two weeks but I don’t see why any firm would do that for somebody not currently performing billable work...
What general duties and responsibilities should grad hires have had experience of during their first 2-3 months? That’s assuming that they’re not on the bench..tryna compare my experience to others.
Last night in NYC for awhile fam. Roll off is tomorrow. Gonna miss being here with y’all
Anyone else love listening to Bollywood music in the gym? Others probably think I have hip hop or rap playing but in reality I’m doing bench press while blasting badri ki dulhania 😂🇮🇳
Hi folks, Recently received an offer of 7 CTC from LTI in grade P1(not sure what it is), in RPB BU(Repurpose Bench). Wanted to know more about this business unit. Also how much is the deduction and in hand salary
TMW your Senior Manager leaves the program/firm the day before you're supposed to finalize your own roll off plan. 😖 🔫 #nevermind
Me: I should really do something with all this spare bench time I have. Also me: let me check IG, fbook, fbowl, and challenge all my working friends to a mobile game for 8 hrs
How to best utilize your time when you’re on the bench? I have started some online learning, getting ready for CFA, exercising, cooking, reading books, but I still feel that I have plenty of unused time. And the routines are killing me too.
I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
If you project ends right around when you turn in 2 week notice, will most company let you go immediately or honor your 2 weeks? Those 2 weeks will just be bench weeks then. (I’m Not going to a competitor).
Question on pay: Moved to industry and may have lowballed myself. Currently at 120k (110k + 10k bonus). Is this the norm for ppl 3 yrs out of UG? Already checked Glassdoor but not enough data points
I keep getting into second and third rounds of interviews and not getting the job bc my experience is low. Can’t seem to get past the # of years hurdle. Anyone have some encouraging words? Need a lift
Hi moms - I’m a FTM and my leave is ending next week 😭😫 I’ve loved being home with baby and being able to devote all my attention to her and my family. I’m anxious about the transition back and...

I had one interview round and was told that I have been selected and there will no further rounds. Have completed the pre hire survey and submitted my documents. Am I the only in this situation or are there any other candidates as well. Can I negotiate a higher salary?
Has anyone been through the Google S&O interviews? What are the cases like? Similar to ours?
I got a new job and was told that I can only roll over pre-tax 401k because the company does not offer roth 401k. I have a lot more money stored in roth 401k from my previous employer.. what should I do to keep it?
Is it normal to leave an interview feeling pretty great and end up thinking you did horribly like 3 hrs later?
So I am looking at data from Levels.fyi and the comp for Lyft devs is MASSIVE but I haven't seen any of it!
HELP NEEDED: Just got offer for Deloitte HC as SC. I'm from a target MBA with a little over a year in consulting. What's the comp of a second year SC? Want to benchmark offer
Has anyone else in NY had an offer delayed? I was told by my EY recruiter that it would take some time to receive the verbal and written offer due to a new background check for NYC residents; I was told unofficially that the team liked me and wanted to move forward and we discussed comp and start date. I’m a little concerned something else is going on and my offer will go to someone else. Am I worrying too much? Thanks! EY
If you’re applying to another consulting job without a referral quit being selfish and help a brother (or sister) out. Help us, help you, to help us, getting a referral bonus
Has anyone been seeing layoffs in their firms? I’m starting to catch wind of industry layoffs. Is recession hitting now?
Outside of McK Quantum Black and BCG Gamma, is there any other consulting companies with dedicated analytic branch? For folks in qb or gamma, do you feel like second citizens (culture, as well as pay) compared to the traditional strategy consultant? Thanks!
Met with my boss today and was told “well you’re way better at your job than we expected...so keep doing that and just that. We might be able to have some more interesting work for you to do in 2-3 years”. Meanwhile...I am BORED TO TEARS!!!!!! And it’s tempting to quit, but I make more money than both of my parents combined EVER have, we had zero layoffs during COVID, and I really do love the people. At the end of the day...I guess I’m just hear to vent and to see if I’m the ONLY one.
