What’s going on in the District this week??
Hi Everyone,
Was hoping to get a hand or advice. I had submitted an application the Travelers for a marketing position in early November, resume shows received but nothing else. Is there someone that works there that could direct me to a HR email or contact person? Have had nothing but a positive experience working with Travelers in my last two roles as an agent and then an underwriter would love to have to the opportunity to work directly with Travelers. Any help would be greatly appreciate is!Travelers

18 to 20 months from start to finish :
Step 1 pwd preparation 2 months + dol processing time 6 months
Step 2 Recruiting: Prep 1 month + posting 2 months
Step 3 Perm : prep 1 month + dol processing 6 months
Step 4 I140 : prep 1 month + UCICS 2 weeks if premium
Some organizations take less time to prep and process is streamlined.
Minimum 18 months max 20 months
Check the dol processing times for better understanding of processing timelines.
Some of them need at least 24 months.
I have exactly 3 years left, and am looking to sign the offer this week, and start in a few months- hope I am not too tight timing wise 😭
3 years is long enough to file before you max out but most firms have a 6 month to 1 year waiting period after changing jobs (others start pretty soon).
You might want to discuss this with your new firm HR and get some confirmation that they won't delay it. Sometimes the delay spills into the last 24 months and even though that is more than enough, any hiccup can create major issues. For instance if your PERM is audited, you'll be waiting a good 9 to 10 months or longer before that finishes. The objective is that you get your i140 approved before you're maxed out so you can file the post i140 extension.
In general, the earlier you start the better.
Thank you so much everyone - this is super insightful
