What is the more creative (or crazy) idea you have seen or thought of to simulate some resemblance of the “old normal” communication with people? In professional setting. Tired of everything being zoom (or likes of that). Things like virtual reality? Or hologram? Or anything like that?

Beam me up Scotty

What if I said I had a million dollar to spend on this, and make me it real?

Give me the million and see you in minecraft.

Sure why not 3D virtual reality. The video games with the glasses are pretty cool, I could see wanting to apply it to more real life situations now especially for socializing

My team and I built a Virtual huddle room - our office had 8 Oculus’s and we each took one home. We rendered a 3D/virtual circle table. Built avatars for us and each person has an assigned chair in the room. We were able to simulate a stand up in VR. While fun, not really practical, it’s a bit dizzy in there for long periods of time and would require significant investment to build the right graphics that would one would expect

How do I tell my manager I'm leaving the firm? First time quitting a job and I don't know the etiquette. I assume a Zoom is better than an email. Do I tell him where I'm going and why? Do I tell other people too or let him do it? Any important details to take care of?

I’m 36, earn 100k and I work maybe 30 hours a week, and I’m a shining star. It allows me to enjoy life without stress. I can linger around and see myself (slowly) climbing the ladder. But part of me wants to put in hard work and grow a lot in my career and earn more for a stable financial future, but it means I’ve got to work more and stress more and I’m worried I won’t get time to relax and enjoy my life as before. But also I’m worried I’ll slack off. Anyone going through this? Would I regret?

Google Classroom and Zoom was on the fritz all morning. Lord, I have never worked so fast at multitasking of talking to a few students on Zoom, the rest of the students through Go Guardian, texting parents through ClassDojo, and calling parents. I was only able to teach math and science 🤣

I’m working on a product that helps to make life on Slack more productive. The purpose of this Slackbot is to answer questions automatically using content that has already been shared in Slack. Any tips on how to promote a tool like this? It’s in the functional MVP stage and I’m looking for free users to provide feedback.

Thoughts on Razorfish Health NYC? Or switching to health in general? I'm moving to NYC and looking to switch jobs (currently working remote for a Chicago agency). RFH just reached out about an opportunity. My one hang up is switching over to health. I've worked for 5 years on a brand I legally can't put in my book; I feel like health may be equally stunting to my portfolio. I went from portfolio school to my current job.

Does anyone know someone who was placed on a pip who then found a way to get on medical leave so could apply to jobs while still employed? (Idea being that you greatly extend your opportunity to look for jobs while still being able to say you’re at current firm. Example: Person gets 1 month pip, gets medical leave, then is able to look for new jobs for many months rather than 1 month. If you don’t know anyone, any opinions on how this could work?
