One time I flew over 1500 miles to another city just to deliver a laptop (stuff was confidential and partner didn’t want to risk it being lost by FedEx). Not joking.
Got on the plane, flew there, delivered the laptop, headed right back to the airport and flew back. Whole thing took around 8 hours, which were fully billed.
And it probably cost less than delaying closing a day or two. I’d do it in a hearbeat
Had about the same as A1 when I was a paralegal. Needed a wet ink version of a signed affidavit from our partner, who was on holiday near Tokyo (12hr flight from here). Because everyone was too busy since we were nearing our filing date I was sent to retrieve it. Got to spend 9 hours in Tokyo, never having set foot outside Europe before. All hours were billed, expenses paid, and it was an experience I will always remember.
Translate a 20 page legal document from English to Dutch within 1,5 hour.
Nope, obviously not, but they had a board meeting for which they needed it. We ended up providing some sort of automated translation with a LOT of qualifications in the cover email. Turned out they didn't really need it that badly because we never got around to fully do a legal translation afterwards...
