How do you tow the fine line between sticking up for yourself and not talking back to a partner? For context, our firm has seemingly started making a paper trail for layoffs and I disagree with some of the emails that I have received. I want to respond in a way that covers my own ass. However, I don’t want to piss anyone off, especially if I have read the situation incorrectly.

I have a fear of commitment with everything in my life: accepting a job (if I have multiple offers), accepting a college, signing a lease somewhere, and starting a relationship. Once I get started, I know I’ll love it, but the decision kills me.
