Hi fishes, in urgent need of your suggestions.
One of my friend is having offer from Oracle Pune for software developer role in Oracle store team. but he does not have clear idea of the role whether it will be operations, support or development work.
Does anyone know what kind of work is there in store team. Also, is it possible to change the project once we get inside?
Urgent suggestions required...
Thanks!

Might want to wait till they pay that settlement first đ
I was never McK so I donât know the answer but you think itâll get paid globally? Iâd have expected US partners to pay the bulk of it. Itâs approximately $1M per US partner isnât it?
It is very tough to be successful after lateraling into Mck as a partner. Most only stay ~24 months, finding the culture too different, the lack of network (up and down) too crippling, and the need to be ârealâ too jarring. Canât count on one hand the number of former Accenture execs who have come over as Ps and just flamed out after being unable to change their sales-driven, thin-on-horsepower-heavy-on-relationship style. Some are successful, but it is rare.
This isnât judgment or superiority. Mck is weird and itâs hard to adapt as a fully formed partner. Imagine having a team problem solving stop cold and being called out for âvaluesâ by a BA because you suggested we could sell a client something they need, by an EM because you had the audacity to suggest the budget of a project wouldnât allow another expert to be added, or by a partner colleague (in front of the team) for being too commercial and not framing something in terms of impact. Imagine having strong sales and managed numbers but no one caring (or even having a way to know) and not getting a good review because youâre not sufficiently collaborative. Imagine staff doing real due diligence on you with BAs and ASCs on your past teams as part of every staffing process and passing on your studies because you have a reputation for being difficult/creating churn or arenât well networked and therefore canât help them as they progress.
This sounds like hell, but if you can get over the hump, this place is amazing and all those things become strong positives for maintaining culture.
Perhaps losing the forest for the trees here, but your "too commercial" comment is hilarious on the day that Bob Sternfels was named in the top 2 for Managing Partner election. I've never met a more ruthlessly commercial person in my career. Guy would make Accenture biggest rainmakers look like socialists.
