What is the probability that there will be an adverse long term side effect of the covid vaccines? This seems to be the main driver of vaccine hesitancy. I recall Dr Fauci saying that any vaccine side effects manifest within the first few months of the injection, and that long term side effects of any vaccine are non existent.

The main driver of vaccine hesitancy is political. For those genuinely worried about long term effects, it can help to explain to them that there is not a single vaccine in history that has yielded adverse effects in the long term (ex. 6 months plus down the road). Vaccines are designed to quickly kick the immune system into gear, which is why their effects, good and bad, are generally seen in weeks, not years.

The only person who says Dr Malone is the “single most qualified” mRNA expert is Dr Malone. And he didn’t “invent” mRNA vaccines either.

When the vaccines first came Dr. Z (YouTube) did an episode on the history of vaccines. Something he quoted that has stuck with me is the father of modern vaccines once said he relaxes after the first 3 million get it because most of the complications will have shown themselves. I was definitely a wait and see person but earlier this year, enough people had gotten it that most of the risks had been caught. I then got my shot. But man, I had to do a lot of research on what MRNA is and how it works.

Vaccine testing began in July 2020. Studies are still ongoing. If anything egregious had happened we’d probably know about it by now. Vaccine hesitancy comes from the spread of misinformation. Did you hear anything about long-term effects of a vaccine, any vaccine, before COVID?

It was acknowledged in that article how rare it is that something is approved without advisor recommendation. I don't think that article at all impacts or is related to the decisions around the COVID vaccine. The development process was quicker, but was there less development time put into it? I bet there was significantly more scientist effort (read development time) put into the COVID vaccine than in any typical 5-10 year drug development process. We, by using logic, can never say there is definitive proof that something won't happen X years down the road. We, by using logic + facts, can say this technology + vaccines in general have never had adverse effects that unveiled themselves after 6 months, so therefore it's incredibly improbable that will be any long-term health effects. In fact, it's so improbable that the probability will never be lower than where it is today. There is no period of time in which the likelihood decreases from where it is today to 0.

I think all of us will become zombies like “I am Legend”

You know people actually believe this.

funny

It would be the first time in the history of modern science that a vaccine didn't unveil it's effects within 6 months of inoculation.

https://www.chop.edu/news/long-term-side-effects-covid-19-vaccine Here you are, but I think it's because the typical rebuttal is "well no vaccine was MRNA before this" and then people refuse to believe that MRNA has been studied and injected in human subjects for at least a decade.

I think part of the concern is effects like the blood clots, myocarditis, pericarditis, Guillain-Barré syndrome were not known or correlated right away and later warnings were added. The rotavirus vaccines were recalled years ago. The FDA issues recalls all the time. We were told months ago it would not alter your DNA and now there is research that it can actually happen. I don’t know why it makes you crazy to wonder about possible impacts to health, especially for new technology.

PM1, your link has nothing to do with mRNA vaccines. Not sure where you got that connection.

Not sure about vaccine but I know for sure long term side effects of consulting and drinking. Do both. Any side effects can’t be worse than them.

As someone who got covid already I figured the long term side effects of the vaccine can’t be different or worse than the long term sides I’m dealing with (mostly cardiovascular).

Questions that need answers.

Vaccine hesitancy has a lot to do with this being emergency released and no FDA approval. Once there is FDA Approval, I think a lot more of the unvaccinated will feel comfortable

I hope you are right. If nothing else I think more organizations will feel comfortable mandating them.

Probability = very very very low to nonexistent

The way I have convinced myself that the vaccine is safe is that getting vaccinated doesnt involve long term use of the vaccine. When medications cause issues like cancer etc, it is usually the result of long term use over months and years. This isn't the case with vaccines.
