We hire PwC managers into Associate level at higher comp. Pretty sure Kearney Associates get paid significantly more than PwC managers in the ME

Go for manager, else the salary will not be convincing for a move

The equivalent is SA1 or SA2. We’ve just changed our hiring policies so while DA1 is correct, manager will be a very tough swing rn

What are good areas I should be looking at? Staying in sales or managing sales? Account manager etc. Not a fan of cold call type roles

Looking for some advice on how to branch off into a job in tech. I’m a Mechanical engineer interested in working in a big tech company. I have some programming experience but excel mostly in mechanical and product design as well as 3D CAD. Was wondering if any other mechanical engineers have managed to make the shift from a traditional mech job to a tech job and if you could give me advice on the best path that worked for you. Thanks!

I have recruiters from mid-level firms reaching out to me pretty regularly for tax manager roles, but I honestly don’t feel like I am ready to be a manager. I don’t want to be in a situation where I am unable to deliver. So my question is what does it take to be a tax manager at a mid-level firm? What experience and temperament do you need? Is it normal to not feel ready? I’ve worked 2.5 yr at a regional firm, made it to senior, now been in industry for almost 2.5 yr as a tax analyst.

Outside of your day job, how do you learn the high level technical aspects of salesforce? I’m a functional lead at a big 4 consulting company on a long term project (more strategy and PM work) but want to have better technical understanding. I don’t want to be a tech lead, but enough to have educated conversations with clients (architecture, data model, integrations, privacy, refresh specifics, etc), and potentially work towards Solution Architect. Any advice would be highly appreciated!

As a consultant who studied accounting in college, I pity those who actually work as accountants.

Dunno why anyone in their right minds would go down that path given the terrible value proposition of being an auditor or tax accountant.

The next time someone says “the reason partners make so much is because they take on all the risk”, we can dispute them and use corona as an example. If partners took on all the risk staff would get paid in full before they got paid anything. The fact that staff salaries were reduced is proof staff are taking on risk too and should be compensated accordingly.
