Off topic alert ! I am posting this here because I want inputs from people in the US, UK etc. I am from India - a b. Pharm. + mba ! I have worked for 8 yrs in business research. For personal reasons, I want to move to the US or Europe ( dont want to stay in India). I earn well by Indian standards. Am single aged 33, female. Do you think if I prepare for pharmacist test and register myself as a pharmacist in either of these countries? Would it be a good and safe move? Thanks
What are some consulting careers for tax folks? Or any other paths post MBA that deals in tax? Have enough GI bill and made enough trading where I can take a 2 year break but still accomplish a milestone. Did 3 years in a core group and 2 in M&A tax. Enjoyed the work but want to go back to school while young enough. Any ideas? Is there anything in PE where having tax experience helps?
I’m currently interested in a strategy role at Ubisoft, a company in the gaming industry. Is Ubisoft a prestigious/big brand outside of video game circles? I’m interested in IB/Tech post-MBA and concerned whether or not Ubisoft will be known to interviewers down the line.
Interested in applying to MBA/grad school in the next 1-2 years. Been a strong student but still don’t feel the confidence about getting in, and trying to build it before application comes. Feel like I need to feel like I deserve it in order to successfully convince others... Anyone been in the same boat, any advice?
Does anyone know a good essay coach or someone who could help review mba essays for me? Would prefer someone in the Cleveland, OH area but could also work with someone virtually if it’s the right fit. Feel free to DM me or post here. Also, does anyone know how much to expect to pay for something like this? Is it typically an hourly rate? TIA!
Does anyone have a CISA database questions (QAE) that I can use to test myself? Or have months leftover I can use
Deciding between Stern with a full ride or CBS with little/no financial aid, CBS is my top choice but would have to take out loans for the cost of attendance...worth it? Post MBA goal: tech or finance
Ugh this thread in the MBA bowl has me so annoyed. Wharton became the first top business school to admit more women than men…. I’m sure it won’t shock you what the men have to say about it 🙄 https://joinfishbowl.com/post_44bsc81emi
Anyone taken the SAP Certified Application Associate (SAP S/4 Hana Cloud) certification for Finance implementation? Any tips will be appreciated!
High performer, but early in my career at IBM (little less than 2 years). Worth it to chase prestige and exits by lateraling to D, S&, etc.? Long term goals involve VC/Corp Dev, possible mba, etc
For over 15 years I held customer support roles in a variety of industries. At the same time developing skills in other areas; such as being ordained as a Zen priest and receiving an Integral Coach certification. After being laid off in May, I decided to pursue my coaching business full time. My question is, for those who have sought out coaching, which area of your life did you focus on first and why?
I really enjoy consulting, I have a Top 5 MBA. I see how people kill themselves to make partner and then stay partner, and I don’t know if I have the energy or the drive to do it. What’s in my future?
How much extra goodwill do you ascribe to someone with both CPA and CMA, versus only CPA? Does CMA get similar universal recognition just to a lesser degree?
Hi Fishies, i have experience working on Oracle Peoplesoft as well as Oracle Cloud. Now i have been interviewed and selected for Ameriprise where I would learn on the job and work on workday finance. No WD certification. Will it be a good choice in the long run? Also, how hard is it to learn workday without proper formal training/certification ?
Thinking of applying to MBA programs, maybe a dual degree since I did my undergrad in CS. Any ideas for ways to improve my resume with opps outside of work? Thx!
unpopular opinion: An Mba is one of three things: 1. A ticket to get deeper into the corporate world (essentially buying into the rat race) 2. A 2 year vacation for rich people. 3. A tax that internationals have to pay in order to get a solid corporate job Can someone please convince me otherwise? I’m struggling to see how it is worth it, I am 26 and make 100k and the 200k price tags seems like a rip off tbh

Ah now it did.
Moving to another country for grad school. Current firm has operations in the region, but my practice has no presence, so transferring is not an option. Due to visa status, I’m not eligible to work in the country. Thought is to secure a remote position with a company here in the states that is flexible regarding working hours; there is an 8-hour time difference. Has anyone experienced this? Recommendation on roles to look at? Background: software implementation, SC consulting, data analytics
