Low key IT consulting Not too good in an international market. Cheap indian labor providers
Their model is providing cheap labour. But they also have smart folks. At junior level a lot of friends worked there and learned a lot that helped them get to where they are today
Low-cost BPO. Good for labor arbitrage, but light on next gen stuff (tools, analytics, etc.)
Cognizant is superior to the other two
Cognizant is a strong challenger to Accenture / Deloitte in a few areas e.g. Digital Transformation, Life Sciences etc.
Overall, it all boils down to the people you work with, the work that you do, and how much you get paid.
Keep telling yourself that D4
I don’t tend to hold those companies in high regard. Worked with Infosys as a client and they totally blew it. From what I hear about the others is basically that they are cheap production.
Just don’t know if that perception is true and shared by others or if I have it wrong.
My experience with one of them is that if you have big projects you can get the best people and even then for a short period of time. Most are underpaid, hard to deal with, and not good from a technical perspective
Outsourced services
You are right OP. i am indian and i can confirm
Good in pockets. But the overall reputation seems to be pulling down the good.
They’re not great with implementation or new work, they are best as outsourced work and keeping the lights running. They’re all trying to change that perception but their turnover is very high. I’ve worked with them at a couple of my past companies (not clients) and have rarely come across good resources there since good ones make their way up to Big4 or other comparable company
Very technical and strong data skills. That's about it
