I have a query with regards to HRA deduction that we can claim as non taxable.

So in my offer letter, it is written that max 50% of basic salary can be used for house rent.

My basic salary is 7,00,000. So how much deduction can I show for HRA, considering the The Income Tax Act Section 10-13A?

I want to reduce the tax as much as possible through HRA, but I believe there is a limit upto which deductions will be considered.

Need to vent. I have been interviewing candidates for a role on my team and finally found a candidate I want to hire. It’s been 7 months of interviewing and I was very excited to have him on board. This candidate just so happens to be Asian. A week after I submitted my feedback - heard back from the hiring committee that the packet was rejected and asked me to re-interview an URM candidate who has the lowest average interview score on my list. Now I have to restart the whole process for D&I😞

Any tips on negotiating my raise? I have a check-in with a partner this week where we will discuss my raise. I just finished my first year at a consulting firm with ~4K employees. The average raise from first to second year seems to be 6.5% but I really want to gun for 10%. I have good reviews and the best chargeability metrics in my starting class. Just let go from a 40 hour per week consulting position where I learned they were paying other consultants 3-4x more per hour. They still really like my work, trust me, and want to work with me on an as-needed basis. I want to charge them an hourly rate similar to all the other consultants. Thoughts? Got an offer from Bloomberg for a product manager role in NYC. Current M salary at ACN is $170k with negligible bonus. Bloomberg offer is $175K with sign on of $25K. Financially not as much of an incentive to transfer. Anyone know if I should try and get Bloomberg to go higher or am I already at the upper band for this role?
