I like the job/ people/ company I’m with, but I ended up taking an interview and getting an offer for 40% salary increase, similar role. I would truly only be leaving for the money. We’re not struggling but this would make a big difference over a few years. Yes I plan to ask current employer to see what they can do but they won’t be able to come close… is only for the money the wrong reason to leave?

Hi All, Recently I got an offer with almost 200% hike and company is telling me to join by 28th November. I have put down my paper on 11th October and it comes to only 46 days of Notice period. Rest 12 days I am not serving notice. But my manager is like December 9 is the last working day and they will not do buyout. In my offer letter its mentioned "The company is entitled to either waive the notice period in part or in full at its sole discretion or require payment of equivalent base salary

Is 76k a year low for Senior BI Analyst? MBA in Business Analytics, 3 years of experience, python, R, Tableau, Alteryx, experience with data science as well (predictive models), SQL.

Senior leader (director level). Person or color, female, 15 YoE in digital transformation. Base comp $160k, TC $200k+.

I feel like I’ve been stuck in this salary band for the last 5 years. In my interviewing experience, Canadian companies aren’t willing to pay more for full-time employees. Where do I go from here? What companies should I be applying to? I’d consider an MBA or masters if I could guarantee an ROI in earning potential.

What does a partner at a VC fund make? Let’s say top 10 AUM. It seems from the partner LinkedIn they have wildly varying amounts of YOE. Some more like 15 years, others only 5-6.

Been in house for about a year. I just found out that a new hire who has 1-2 less years of experience than me (but will have the same role/title as me) received a compensation package significantly higher than me, mostly due to the market dynamics with law firm associates’ compensation being ratcheted up the past year. Can I ask for an equitable raise mid year? And if so, how? I got rave reviews but an immaterial pay bump (3%) at year end in December.

I’ve noticed that some silver Rolexes have a bit more luster/sheen than others and I can’t tell if it’s attributable to age, whether they’re SS vs. white gold, or a combination of both. Appreciate any thoughts.

This "weekends are protected" fallacy (told during recruiting) came up recently and I want to ask here to see how normal this is. My firm has offshore teams that require Sun-Thurs pm turnover (often anywhere between 9-11pm). People are saying that's just how consulting is but I find it hard to believe a 9pm Sunday meeting is normal. Does your firm do this?

I live in Toronto. My home is under renovation and my neighbor is telling me that it’s impacting their house sale value. It seems they want to sell and 3-4 realtors told them that their home will sell for 300k less due to our construction. I find this hard to believe but seeking an opinion here.

Hi Fishes, I was offered 35% as initial offer and subsequetly raised to 55% during one round of verbal negotitaion, though I asked them to raise it a bit but subsequently I accepted it (55%). Now before rolling out offer letter they called me & informed that business could approve 44% @ max, if I would confirm then they will roll it out. Pls suggest how to go about.
