2017 grad so technically a 4th year. Lateraled to a CRE boutique in NYC that’s a major player. Learned quickly that my experience/knowledge/organization is not up to par (was a COG in the machine at prior firm). Just had EOY review and, though positive sounding, they’re dropping me to a 3rd year to ensure I’m not billing as a 4th year and able to do the work to learn/get up to par. I feel pretty okay about it (market salary deduction notwithstanding), but want to make sure I’m not being naive.

I’ve had a really tense, emotionally exhausting week. Things wrapped up yesterday and now my body feels so strung out and exhausted. Any tips for coming down from being so strung out without relying on toxic habits and just shutting down/procrastinating? (My brain is saying “go for a run” and my body is getting stuck picking at my eyebrows for two hours) I feel like my central nervous system is on a roller coaster.

This year has been tough. Yes, good things happened too. Got a job that pays well, bought a house, and spent a lot of time with family thanks to remote work, but I’m still dealing with lots of anxiety this year. I lost my best friend whom I had a crush for to an accident (couldn’t go to funeral), still dealing with parent’s health issues. I’ve been pushing it but now feel so burnt out and unsure how to feel happyish again. Just so much anxiety. People won’t understand but I’m feeling so drained.

How some people are clearing interview and then getting into a project even though they don't have any skills, no desire to learn new things, can't perform a very very simple task even though it's already documented clearly, totally burden on team members. They don't even try to do basic troubleshooting when they faced simple issues, rather asks stupid question to junior who is having only 1 years of experience and ask for solution.

It’s been 4 months since I started my new role as UX Researcher. I was a fresh graduate with little to no professional experience. In 2 weeks, my senior UXR, who is the only researcher of the team is leaving. This means I am required to lead the team for all research tasks, until they find a new replacement. This is a big challenge for someone who just started into this post and not a very comfortable situation to be in. Anyone with good tips and advice how to perform well?
