I respect the responses that say six months and in my past switches that was a normal amount of time to get a feel for a new role. However I think the pandemic times are different. I started a new job in a new state in July and I do not really have my bearings yet so your post sounded familiar. Hang in there, these times are not at all normal especially if you did virtual on boarding and have had minimal to no face time in your new workplace.
Exceptionally good point! OP I think it's important to take pandemic life into the equation.
Thanks everyone. I had a moment of weakness and the reassurances have helped. I also realized I’m putting way too much pressure on myself so early on. I’m going to slow down a bit.

What would support look like for you? What do you need that you are not getting? Starting there, you may be able to build a plan to get the support you need. I’ve seen this done through 15 minute check ins on a weekly/ no-weekly basis couched as “course corrections and organizational understanding.”
Growth periods like this when you’re teaching yourself something new are always really hard. Especially when you had grown to feel comfortable and confident in your previous role. But as you said, it’s a better move for you professionally and financially. Give it several months. You have what it takes or your bosses would not trust you with it. You will find a way to navigate and conquer this too and will not be able to imagine going back to your old job a year from now with all the new skills you’ve learned and confidence you have built in your own capabilities.

I have switched roles several times in my career. I believe it takes about 6 months to get fully settled in and adjusted. It takes time to learn the new culture, the expectations of the role, how you fit in, etc. Give yourself some grace as you adjust.
Also, be specific in what you need as support. Do you need clarity of role expectations? Do you need more help / someone to delegate to? Do you have specific questions about processes or history in the company? The more you can hone in on what you need and ask for that, the easier the transition will be.
I switched roles in July. I went through the same thing. It took me 6 months to feel comfortable Nd confident in my new role. Be patient, take your time and have weekly 30 min one on ones with an onboarding buddy or your boss to help coach you thru it
Keep your head up and don’t let the anxiety get the best of you. At 5 months in doing my yr end reflection I had an anxiety attack about all the mistakes I had made and how that would effective perception of me/reputation. I ended up getting a glowing review which just showed how tough I was being on myself. Don’t be too hard on yourself , be nice to ppl, and just go with the flow.
Honestly six months for a career oriented job. Especially if it involves any decisionmaking authority on your part.

I was on a project for two months alone where I was struggling from beginning to end. I dreaded going to and leading any meetings. I could barely get the job done. My clients didn’t really seem to care for me. I also got tons of constructive feedback and small comment that all remind me of how incapable I am.
The only thing I did was to accept it for what it is and tried to do what I could. Looking back, I learned that that project, the client company, and some people I had to deal with didn’t match what I want from work. So I made it a point to try to put myself in a better environment since. I owe myself that much.
