I'm not in New York, so this is a biiiiiit of a guesstimate, but I'd aim for $120k or higher. I've heard salaries MUCH higher than than, but I don't know how sr those people are.

I am current working in a tax technology group even got my CPA. I just finished 1st year on the job found out I hate the tax and accounting and enjoy it a lot more when I code in VBA, writing SQL script etc… I enjoy coding and want to get into software dev and escape the busy season hell. Anyone has successfully transition to such role? How did you do it? Quitting decent paying job to study full time for a job that is not guaranteed is daunting.

How do you advocate for a "level" promotion in a company that has vague unofficial descriptions of levels? I'm doing L4-5 (on standard levels, or L3 within our system) work but can't get away from the unofficial "L2".

Making 140k with 7 yrs experience in this role, and 12 prior years experience in Systems Engineering roles. I know someone on my team is at 180k with a similar career.

Fighting with my manager atm on definitions of levels and feel like its a red herring.

Need career advice. Trying to break into a finance role, preferably an Analsyt role but I have no transferable experience. I worked as a mortgage loan officer (which is sales) for 2 years after college, but since mortgage is such a niche industry, no hard skills transfer and have no relevant undergrad internships unfortunately. I know I can essentially get any sales job I want in finance IE: financial advisor etc. but don’t want to be stuck in sales forever. Any advice?

All this is under the pretense of uniformisation of the structure accross the country. I don’t seem to have a choice or a margin of négociation. But I am a very valuable asset. Any advice?

Hello Fishes, Last Monday I had an HR discussion for Cognizant. Since i am holding a counter offer of value 16Lac, I asked 18Lac as an expected salary. At last, HR said further exceptional approval is required and the remaining process will take 3 to 4 days.
Since then no further update on my candidature. I tried to reach out to HR by both Mobile & Email. But no response
Will they update something?
does anyone come across this kind of issue?
how long will they take for exceptional approval?

How would you go about finding a remote AE role with a 100k base?

I have about 7-8 years of sales experience and have consistently out performed my OTE. I absolutely love my current role but I feel like I have out grown the company as there isn't a ton of opportunity to make more than I am currently making.

I opened up my LinkedIn to recruiters but all the offers are 60-70k base and 120-140k OTE. I am shooting for MINIMUM 80k base but ideally 100k or more.

What would you do?

I'm not in sales per se but I manage my company's largest wholesale account ($150 million per/yr account). It's a great company, awesome culture, good benefits, flexibility, but the pay is not great ($60K/yr). All the pros outweighed the mediocre pay, but now with inflation rising, my paycheck isn't going as far and I'm having a really hard time trying to figure out if I should start looking elsewhere or if I should ask my boss for a raise.
