What is the vertical path like, in your experience, with strategists? How much time and experience needs to be earned before looking towards a promotion?

Junior strategist should be making headway in 2-3 year stints. As you get to director level you should be thinking in 2-4 year stints. Good career paths have more steps along the way, but these are some useful benchmarks. Like any career you get real experience by time in trade and there are no easy shortcuts for that. Focus on completing full engagements where you own start to finish and you can see the impact of a strategy go into market

I’ve seen it go all over the place. It’s usually more tied to accomplishments than tenure.

That varies a lot, too. Sometimes I have dedicated accounts and sometimes I’m in more of a consulting role. Often I’m doing both.

I just started at a new company 2 months ago with the expectation of having 3-4 people on my team. However, my team size will be increasing to 7. I don’t really want to rock the boat so early at my new job especially since I’m still in the “drinking from the firehose” phase, but this is going to be a significant increase in responsibility. We only have pay review in January of each year. Would it be crazy to ask about a raise later this month?

Please help me decide: Option 1 - stay at current big 4, get promoted this year, current comp $91k. ( project 20% increase with promotion would be like $110k) Option 2 - jump to a fairly large credit union now, lateral move no title bump, comp becomes $110k

Question about H1B visa transfer: I currently am working on a H1B work visa on C2C and I have a ongoing amendment (Address change - Moved to another state) which has no update and is in process. Now, I am looking for a job change and if I get a new job with a new employer, they would have do a H1B transfer so my question is; Would the new employer be able to start a H1B transfer while I have a ongoing pending amendment? Has anyone encountered this situation? Any leads would be appreciated.
