Like CCAR documentation that we do
It's non-consulting type work. Basically doing the same thing a clients own employee would/should be doing, but they use an outside resource instead.
D1's got it. In the fed space, you essentially become an extension of that agency/dept. and do whatever it is they need, which can be very tedious and mundane. Unfortunately happens to many entry level folks here.
I have yet to see any work like this - seems like we always roll off after the assessment is done and are replaced by risk assurance or assurance folks.
Must be a US term, I've never heard it referred to as staff aug. I've heard 'BAU' and 'body shopping'. Have avoided those roles like the plague - deliverables and team is where we add value.
In my experience it can be a great experience if you're part of the right team. I get more exposure to senior level people being staff aug than I would back in the office and I learn a ton more. It sucks not being part of the consulting office culture but I really like it
Happened on my last project where they did a ton of layoffs and didn't have people to fill the roles so staffed deloitte individuals to pick up the Daily work. It was technology branch so there were some projects involved. They were essentially a part of that work stream/projects until could get someone internal from client to fill the role.
Always do project work with deliverables and timelines. Have never been a staff Aug here...
SA the only project that I've even heard of that is like that is BP...but everyone knows to just stay away haha
What's BP? What are you talking about? Your projects don't have deliverables?
Every single project I have been on in the last 8 years has had deliverables whether it be a strategy, recommendations/assessments, or a working functioning product..We are consultants we deliver shit to our client who pay absurd amounts of money for us
SA I was agreeing with you...I've only ever been on engagements like the ones that you've described, what I was saying I the only engagement I've heard of that is pure staff aug is a project we have at BP
Oh hahaha gotcha.
Did up just give away client names? 🙄
Someone can type up fortune 50 companies right now and give up all our client names 😂
^im surprised client names aren't used more frequently
