What is this "work/life balance" I keep hearing about?

U.K. based accountants, has anyone heard any rumours of firms adjusting the pay scales similar to what has been seen at all the banks? The turnover is so absurdly high it seems that something must have to give soon. I am getting approached for industry roles for 40% base increase + bonus. If practice salaries don’t increase this year I have no idea why anyone except the partners would want to stay.

How are everyone’s firms handling the coronavirus? In LA particularly? Ours is acting like nothing is happening and it’s concerning.

Thoughts on this scenario?
I’m feeling jaded after my review earlier this year. I smashed my KPIs and should’ve received 100% of my bonus but a good portion was withheld despite amazing 360 feedback + meeting all the KPIs. My mgr. conveyed to my director that I was not confident/aggressive enough so, the decision was made to withhold it w/o prior discussion that it was a concern. His expectations aside, I don’t feel that it should’ve found it’s way to affecting my bonus; maybe merit increase…?

Niche question for my healthcare folks - do you see any HIPAA or other liability issues for a hospital who discusses and discloses an employed physician’s PHI, but only under the umbrella of confidential peer review? And in furtherance of quality of care? Think peer review committee/MEC discussing whether an aging doc is mentally fit to practice. Off the top of my head I tend to think this is ok but would appreciate any input from those with a healthcare background.
