Are you currently a clerk? If so your interview won’t really be a “lateral” one and it’ll just be basic softball questions, same as if you were doing OCI (though of course you should expect to speak to your clerkship experiences).
If your fishbowl title is just out of date and you’re a true lateral, they won’t really ask area-specific questions as “gotchas” for the most part (that happened to me once, predictably at Kirkland…) but will rather be aimed at getting you to describe any relevant experience and how that will fit into the practice group.
The most “substantive” questions I ever really got were more behavior (e.g. have you ever had to tell a partner or client that they were wrong, and how did you do it? Etc.).
A1: TY for your comment! Yes, I'm currently a clerk and my clerkship is ending in August. I've had some interviews but they seemed atypical so I wanted to ask fishies about their experiences.
