We spout gender equality, but often ask women to do things men don't get asked to do. From organizing lunches/events at work (pre-Rona), to babysitting our siblings because we are girls with motherly insticts. It is generally expected that women do certain things that are "for the good of the community" which is just unpaid work for no praise. Let's change this. Let's start the change at home and it will translate elsewhere If you won't ask your son to do it, don't ask your daughter to do it.

Any POV is helpful. For background I currently work at Ogilvy in a pretty junior role and I see NO ONE that looks like me. Peers or at the top aside from those in HR/diversity and in addition to dealing with the day to day reality of being a POC in corporate America, its hard to visualize a path to “the top”.

Started at a new firm in September. The firm sent me my pro rated hours requirement for the year. It includes no ramp up period (like, for example, it doesn’t factor in that my first week was full of mandatory systems trainings, etc). I was told there’s no expectation I must hit the goal, but it feels like maybe there’s an unspoken expectation that I do. Any thoughts? I’ll need to bill just over 8 hours a day from now to December 31 to make it. Doable but the bonus is also pro rated.
