Op, go work in politics if you want to further your myopic view of the world. I have the right to live my life and make a living at my job free from policies that people like you are peddling just to feel like you are morally superior to others.

Honestly you should look at Kearney. We take this stuff seriously as Tom Kearney talked about “Essential Rightness” in terms of quality guidance and doing the right thing. The OG Spike Lee (“Do the Right Thing”). Apolitical but I don’t think ensuring the right to vote should be a political issue. Kind of foundational for our Democracy.

Why does everyone expect their employer to save the world

Because being the change they want to see is difficult so they outsource to politicians and corporations. Then get all pissed when those parties do what’s best for them
Supports showing a valid ID

Yeah, 10 years ago we could all easily agree on this. Now supposedly requiring an ID is a racist thing because joe needs the extra votes
Sorry but I have better things to ask during interviews that have to do with, you know, my actual employment

Why does it matter? Having to take a political stance on controversial matters helps no one, and has nothing to do with the underlying mission of any of our companies
Trump: the elections were rigged Dems: shut up Dems: … ok NOW the elections are rigged
If you asked me that question it would tell me you’re not interested in the job.

If I were the hiring manager, I may ask a follow-up question about what efforts the OP was taking active roles in. An equally inappropriate question, but would let me know if the candidate was legit passionate about a cause, or looking for a company to make a bogus “company XYZ stands in solidarity with…” style post on IG for some moral superiority clout.

My company stands wherever they can capitalize the most on their “position”. That being said, we’ve kitted the entire vaccinated population with identification (vax cards) so I see no reason we couldn’t and shouldn’t do the same for voting. That way everyone can shut the fuck up about voter fraud and integrity
God OP, what a bunch of narcissistic virtue signaling flogging the fashionable concern of the moment. You probably couldn’t even list what’s in the current legislation let alone back up why it’s needed. Go back to the basement from which you crawled and leave the rest of us alone.
If a prospective employee asked me about voting rights I would not recommend to hire.

Politics and religion should stay out of the workplace. unless you're applying for an activist role, no thanks
Why do you care where your employer stands politically. You would scream and cry if the employer uses the same criteria in hiring you. You are paid to do work, if you don’t like go somewhere else.

I think this would be a fairly odd use of a candidate’s time in the interview process.
Couldn't agree more. I would be more concerned about the work I'm doing not about where the company is spending money on PR

If you need a valid ID and a vaccination card to eat at McDonald’s in our nations capital I see no reason why we can’t require just a valid ID to vote
Kind of hard to argue this one
A run of the mill hiring manager will have no influence over this. The money goes wherever the C-suite wants it to go, which is where the largest shareholders want it. Research the executives and you’ll know what the stance really is.
Unless your company processes voter registration lists I don't see why this is relevant.
BAH1, companies take a stance on the issues all the time. And they make big donations to politicians too. So it matters a lot, because money talks. A lot of folks would rather not work for or make money for companies that will not advocate for their basic rights, or that will actively donate/work against their basic rights.
…it starts with the hiring manager. And yes, what can you do for me? That’s super duper important. We don’t go to work for companies just to be nice lmao. They don’t employ us out of the goodness of their hearts.

Who doesn't have the right to vote? Did we pass a few laws when I wasn't looking?
SC1, voting rights, civil rights, women’s rights, and similar issues are not “politics”, those are human rights issues. I’d hope you understand the difference. And people want to know these things so that they can decide whether to go elsewhere….
voting is definitely a right but also has requirements around it to validate you are a citizen who is eligible to vote. This is why ID's should be required
