Definitely the connection made with students and also the planning! I know that sounds weird but after 5 years I still love trying new things and planning new lessons. I rarely teach the same thing the same way or with the same materials.

Watching my students grow and come back over the years to say hello, give me a hug, write me letters. It reminds me they are much more than their scores/grades.

Definitely the kids! No matter what bad happens in the day, the kids are always there to make the experience better

For partners at Big4/ ACN/ other T2 firms:

Hi! So I got an offer to work for a competitor making about 50k+ more in base. I would be selling a similar solution but to enterprise holding group agencies ie. WPP, Omnicom Etc. I am currently selling into mid market brands and agencies (inbound) and this new role would be outbound focused. Should I leave and go to a competitor for more money with the opportunity to close larger enterprise level deals? Or stay at my current company where im comfortable.

It's always tough, but this year it has felt impossible to stay on top of grading. Sure, there are online quizzes the computer can grade for you, but that data is so limited. What about the steps they took to get that answer on the math problem? I need to see it to know what they missed... Between submission of blurry photos and going through the process of uploading, downloading, and squinting to see their work, it takes me 20x longer to grade work for my digital kids. #thestruggle

My school is a small rural school. We don’t offer many in-house electives. What’s happening is students are having to take whatever is there to fill their schedules. If they aren’t interested in the class, then it becomes an opportunity for disruptions because they aren’t interested. What are some electives you have at your school that are new, innovative and interesting for todays high school students?

I’ll be retiring from a public school system in the next 3-5 years. My husband, a Navy vet, and I are tossing around the idea of then relocating to a country that has a military base nearby. We’d both be interested in at least part-time gigs: me as a teacher preferably on base and he’s open to jobs on or off base. Does anyone know any educators currently doing that or planning to??

I am on FMLA before Christmas break and admin knows, but grades were due and my sub couldn't do it. However, the grading system which is new messed up my grades up but I am not allowed to do anything during my fmla school related. Praying I dont get in trouble when I get back in January.
