Anyone ever try to exit to a HF?
McKinsey & Company How likely is McKinsey to rescind an offer if there's a recession/downturn before my start date? Received an Associate offer with a start date early in the Fall. But I'm worried about the offer being rescinded due to the ongoing McK scandals/issues and a potential recession in the making (which may prompt them to freeze hiring and/or renege offers).
Has this happened to anyone before at McKinsey, offer getting rescinded due to economic/company downturn? A bit worried

Did 4 rounds of interviews. Last 2 with 2 partners at EY. Haven’t heard back even after 1 month. One partner even commented “you will be a good addition to the team”. Hiring manager gave EY email after her interview call with me.
Fast forward two weeks, no communication. Recruiting was surprised that I was still chasing for this position, month later. Got to know last week that hiring team was continuing to interview candidates. Should I drop the idea to get hired? EY hasn’t rejected me yet.
Hi All,
I joined Tech Mahindra for 5 days only and didn't find suitable timing for my project and emailed resignation mail to manager and HR. After that HR asked me to resign over portal but at the same time blocked my portal. After requesting many times they didn't unblock my portal and pretended like they want to unblock but there is some issue going on and marked my profile absconded. I have cleared fnf but they are not providing reliving letter but added pf amount also. What to do?

I love the balance of how my CDs constantly listen to my ideas and don’t completely shut them down. They welcome them even if they don’t fit what they are looking for, and build on them to make them work.
Also, it’s nice to have them tell me how much they appreciate the work I am doing and when they notice the effort I am putting in. It doesn’t have to be constant praise, but just occasionally knowing I am meeting their expectations makes me happy and pushes me to continue that level of effort
Some of my best CDs have all started out at one agency: DeVito/Verdi. There were many stories of Sal DeVito taking printouts of your work, walking across the room, opening the window and tossing them out. Creatives took a lot of tough love back in the day.
Guide and manage, don’t design and write.
This tip is in “The Little Blue Book of Advertising” by Steve Lance and Jeff Woll. A good third of the book is dedicated to creative leadership. Great book.
They are approachable. My favorite CD doesn’t hoard projects, but sees us as an ultra team where they let our talents shine when we get put on projects. They are very open and honest and I feel like I could put any idea on the table. They care about my well being and let me know when they expect better work. They also are very open to collaboration and encourage healthy competition. When another team has a better idea, we all are genuinely excited for them instead of jealous.
Always give compliments when they're due, but never hesitate to give honest constructive criticism. Be open and approachable at all times (unless of course you're in a meeting or really need to work on something). Always give proper rationale for your feedback. Include your direct reports in as many client meetings, productions, etc. as possible. And if someone has gone through a few rounds of feedback, little phrases like "you're in a good place" and "you're almost there" help keep up the motivation and confidence to push it to greatness
Thank you for all of the great advice. All makes sense considering these are types of things I like about my CD and past CDs too!
"Just keep going” isn’t direction, either
He owns up to choices he made for our work in front of the greater team. Nothing worse than having a concept blow up in the internal based on a CD’s overhaul suggestion and them sit silently as account or the ECD rips it to shreds.
Don’t be a dick and give helpful, actionable feedback. I had a CD that told me my ideas “weren’t creative enough.” That is not helpful at all.
Unlock and unblock - help them unlock the brief to get to good ideas and remove the things that get in their way. Trust - I genuinely have their best interest and that of the work at heart so they know I’ve got their back. I’m still learning how to be a better leader every day.
Writing down all these great advices as I’m becoming an ACD. Thanks! 🙏🏻
Unfortunately I’m just using my time with my cd to truly understand all the things you aren’t supposed to do
sorry to hear that. 🙈
My CD has an exquisite poker face.
My (married) cd is sleeping with the (married) head of account. Does this help?
Working with someone and developing a team dynamic vs. cold reviews. That’s what makes the work better and the culture better.
Don’t rewrite our work. PLEASE. And give regular feedback outside of projects to help us grow.
Give us the chance to present and champion us when deserved
The fact that he is super approachable and not an asshole makes me more comfortable interacting with him. He also gives great feedback on why an idea won’t work in more than just a sentence that starts with “no” which helps me learn where i need to improve
