Don’t know yet. We know kids will be split M-T will be last names A-L. TH-F will be last names M-Z. My largest class at this time is 28 kids but that could change. In the past, the rosters have been equally balanced between last names (have a class with no surnames A-E but have a ton of S names). The district only expects 10% to stay home. So ideally it would be about 13 but I envision have classes of 5 to start the week and 20 to end the week.
*disclaimer* I work in a really small district! We’re adding a new section to every grade (except mine 4th because it’s a small class) so that we can have between 11-12 kids in a classroom. Our absolute max allowed with the size of our classrooms is 14. My room is integrated and has 13 next year but we have myself my co teacher and a 1-1 aid. It’s not clear if teachers should be counted in that 14. The other 2 sections are 16 and 15 so I’m wondering how this will all work 🤷♀️. Everyone in the school with a teaching degree basically has been moved to a classroom teaching position. Waiting for that meeting where admin talks to teachers to ask my 67 and counting questions lol!
Also we’re going back in person 4 days and 1 day will be virtual for a deep clean!
A max of 16 students M-F for elementary
MWFTR alternating days for ms and Hs
