We have had an extremely tough start to the year. I am second guessing my decision to continue teaching (year 20). What are some options for teachers that don’t involve the classroom or direct sale

Any suggestions for classroom management? I push in and pull out - when I push in to the classroom the kids are well behaved.. it’s when I pull them out is when they start to get all silly!

Opinions wanted-Does randomly calling on students using a random generator create an emotionally safe classroom? At what point does the value of a degree fall off? I'm in my early 30s, and have five years of experience, and work on a very theoretically interesting project. Tip for new public accountants: try industry at least once in your life. You'll see what a normal office environment is like and how toxic a lot of firms are. I was lucky enough to intern in industry before starting in public, so I knew I would want out of public before I even started. But the people who never had a job before public accounting are really doing themselves a disservice by staying in public and thinking it's normal and letting themselves be burnt out

Is 50% commission a good “salary”? Just received an offer with the following details: - 50% commission. Stepwise increase by 5% for every $5k per month (e.g., 50% of first $5k, 55% of next $5k, etc) (Resets every month) - treated as independent contractor - no health insurance, no 401k - no hour requirement, WFH option, flexible hours - they cover bar dues, CLEs I feel like 50% is very high.
