What is your quarterly or annual clothing budget (or spend)? I have annual HHI of $475k+ and a frugal husband; trying to align on something reasonable. Thank you!

HHI 1+M. I am cheap as can be. Love off Sax or even tj max. My hubby wears only Tom James. Luxury handmade clothes and for Christmas got me a custom fitted dress and sport coat. I adore the sport coat. But the coat was $1500 and dress $1k. Seems like a lot to spend but I do love the coat. No budget all but I typically never spend much and even less with covid.

My clothing spend has been inversely correlated with my income. When I was in NYC living on $45k a year, I shopped sample sales for as much designer crap as I could afford and skipped meals (a win win because I could fit in tiny designer sizes!) How I live in the suburbs and work from home and my splurge is an $89 pair of Vuori joggers NOT ON SALE. Living dangerously, I know.

But more seriously, I have a few pieces I like from MMLafleur or Theory that are just good basics (blazers, black pants, dresses) and I occasionally pick up a couple tops from Nordstrom Rack when I’m bored. Clothing is a really negligible part of our budget.

I’d say we spend $200-$300 monthly for a family of four. HHI of $450k. Most of it is for my kiddos. My husband wears scrubs which keeps his needs minimal. We don’t buy anything designer.

I don't spend too much on clothes overall...probably $2k per year. I do buy a fair amount of clothes, but I get a lot from TJ Maxx, LOFT, Banana Republic, and the like. I get such a thrill from bargain hunting, can't lie. Bags are more my weakness and I'll splurge there (occasionally). Annual HHI is $400k

I’ve never calculated but admittedly I don’t go overboard. My clothing is primarily Vince (the $80-100 shirts), jeans, a few good blazers (Talbots or brooks brothers), and Cole Haan shoes. I have 1-2 luxury bags (I don’t over do it) and my weakness is fine jewelry but admittedly I don’t feel the need as much anymore. P in consulting. Annual HHI, is $1.5-2M

Mostly diamonds. Like tennis bracelets.

I’m feeling like I really found my people on this thread. I would estimate I spend less than $2,000 a year on clothes. I don’t do designer brands but do splurge on the occasional bag (not included in that estimate). During Covid, probably under $800/year if I were to guess. HHI $750k+

Just need to vent. MIL came over for dinner tonight. Our youngest was fussing so she put her up. She wouldn't stop crying so I went up there...well no wonder, you have her light on! So I turn it off and play it off as a let's see if this will help. She calmed down and all was well. Then, she started fussing again so MIL went back up...and turned the light on. Didn't take her out of the crib or anything, just turned the light on and patted her back. Turn the damn light off and keep it off.

I broke my foot a few weeks ago and sitting at my desk in a cast is incredibly uncomfortable still. But, the work I do can’t really be done from the couch as there is too much paperwork involved that I prefer to physically spread out. I am a true solo. So, I am my only accountability. I’m usually pretty good about getting going, but I’m stalled out. Send me some tough love to get me going today.

I’m 32, and on the fast track to senior leadership positions w/in Investment/Finance industry. I’m thinking about getting a career coach as a sounding board to navigate the next leg (MD/EVP to Partner) in this highly competitive, very male dominated field. Has anyone here hired a career coach? Pros? Cons? What were the biggest questions you were hoping to discuss? Anyone that you would recommend? (I’m located in Boston, but very open to a virtual coach)

I am an unabashed Marie Kondo follower and The Home Edit fan girl. However, when trying to figure out what items to keep vs donate, I’m finding it hard to figure out what to do with my mini wardrobe of ‘pre-pandemic’ business wear. The old rule of ‘get rid of it if you haven’t worn it in a year’ just doesn’t work when the last 2 years I swapped my sheath dresses for sweat pants.

I'm struggling with imposter syndrome. I'm from a working class background, c.10 years exp in marketing & c.3 years in snr leadership. I'm in an exe leadership team with all men. It's all very fluid. Frequent restructures. Bitching/gossiping at snr level.

I feel like I'm not good enough, dynamic enough, doing enough. I ask open qz, probing for feedback. It all seems positive/constructive. With the toxicity, I don't trust any of it. Does anyone have any suggestions to navigate and overcome IS?
