My Covid Routine
Meeting #1 -1.5 hours alarm goes off
Snooze for 15-75 minutes
- Make coffee
Depending on my level of ‘oh shit I have a meeting in 5 minutes’ do some or all of the following in this order of importance:
- Feed dogs
- Drink coffee
- Check last nights/this mornings emails (this is usually as far as I make it if I have an 8am)
- Scroll TikTok/Insta
- Get dressed (put on a bra/T-shirt and lululemon leggings) (if I make it here this is a good indication Meeting #1 was 9am)
- Walk dogs
- Meditation (Meeting #1 was probably at 10am)
- Work out
- Brush my hair
- Eat Breakfast (which my husband makes for me)
- Brush teeth
- Shower (I rarely make it this far so this is usually a Saturday thing - I know that sounds gross but my skin has oddly been way better since covid started)
- Put on makeup (probably have done this about ~5x since covid)
- Hope to god my day ends before 8pm or else the madness begins all over again (because oddly my evening routine is quite rigid and I will stay up as late as needed to make sure it all gets done)
Nothing too exciting, but a lot of quality me/us time
- Walk dogs again
-Make a nice dinner for me and my husband while listening to a true crime pod cast (about 1-1.5 hours)
-Eat dinner with my guy - have some good conversation over a glass of wine or 2 (1-2 hrs)
-Get my introvert time in with 3-4 hours of reading or Netflix
-Wash face / brush teeth - go to bed
7:30 snooze button, 7:45 snooze button, 8:00 snooze button, 8:15 snooze button, 8:30 wake up make breakfast, 9:15 start working.
That’s some Michael Jackson stuff right there.
I believe in taking care of myself, and a balanced diet and a rigorous exercise routine. In the morning, if my face is a little puffy, I’ll put on an ice pack while doing my stomach crunches. I can do a thousand now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial masque which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.
Let's see Paul Allen's morning routine
Typically I wake up around 9:15am , grab breakfast from the kitchen and eat it at my desk on home office. My work starts at 9.
I’m going to be working 8+ hours anyway, so I DGAF if I log on late. “Because f*ck ‘em — that’s why.”

If work starts at 8:30 then I try to be awake and out of bed by 9. Punctuality is really important to me. I’ll make breakfast around 12 and see where the day takes me.
+ 1 for intermittent fasting
Amazed that no one yet found time to meditate in the morning. By far my most important morning habit. Crucial to keep stress low and avoid burnout.
Meditating in the morning has completely changed my outlook on life and my work overall. I feel grounded and relaxed throughout the work day. I manage work stress so much better now, especially whenever there are those last minute fires to be put out. I highly recommend the Calm app. I listen to the Daily Calm and Daily Trip every morning (these are guided mediation session only about 10 minutes each), and I listen to sleep stories or other content before bed.
I was very skeptical when I first started meditating, and didn’t really understand the point or what I was really seeking to get out of it. So my advice to those who are skeptical but thinking about giving it a try - don’t give up on it after a few tries because meditating is sort like sports, you have to keep practicing and exercise your “focus muscle” (I know that probably sounds lame lol). I promise, it can (and will) help change you life!! Good luck!!
Tbh I lay in bed til like 15 min before work starts
This is my Covid schedule.

Rising Star
Depends when my first meeting is. Usually get up about T-5 minutes
Yup
Toddler 1 wakes up at 5:45. Feed him and play with cars while I drink coffee. Clean up mess. Prep water bottle and snacks for kid 2. 7 am kid two wakes up. Struggle to get her dressed. Feed her. I eat a piece of toast. Maybe more coffee because first one got cold. Clean up more mess. Kid 2 out the door with dad to bus stop at 8 am. Clean up kitchen and prep lunch for toddler. Check emails on phone. Maybe a call. Nanny arrives at 9. At my desk finally at 9:15. Feel behind and I’ve been up for over 3 hours.
It takes my 5 year old 15 minutes to brush teeth, put on shoes and coat 😭
Rising Star
I start work at 9 am. This is my routine:
- wake up
- brush teeth
- wash face
- make coffee in French Press
- while my coffee is brewing I do yoga (at a minimum 7 mins of Sun As - if I’m feeling wild I’ll take an online class)
- drink coffee
- read Bible
- get dressed
Conquer the day!
Alarm at 4:45-5am. Pre workout, 💩, banana on my walk to the gym. Home at 6:30. Shower/eat breakfast by 7:30. Go to the office or log on at home.
Timetable gets pushed back an hour if I work past 10pm the night before or completely ignored if I work past 11:15-11:30pm - then im hitting snooze 5-10 times before WFH
Thanks for filling us in on your bowel habits
Look at my investments, realize I can’t retire yet, sigh, shower, sigh, dress, sigh, eat breakfast, sigh, walk to the living room and sit down at my desk. 26 years old, only another 30 years of this haha
Rich ZS, rich - ha!
I wake up probably 30 minutes before my first meeting.. whenever that is
11am
Anyone else surprised at how many people wake up at 8am or later? I’m up and in the home gym at 5:15am. Start work at 7am and end at 6pm - 7pm. For those that start at 9am, are you done by 5pm?
I log from 8:30-5, but I'm also usually 9:00-11:30 4 nights a week... I try to preserve mornings and evenings when kids are home and my family is awake. The only thing that i will let interfere with family time is when I've got meetings with team members overseas - and I minimize those meetings as much as possible.
Everyone here either starts work at 6am or 11am no in between…

“You guys are getting outside?” <insert We’re the Millers meme here>
Role out of bed at 8:50, scramble to turn on my laptop by 8:52, fall asleep for another 8 minutes, and groggily join my first meeting at 9!

Wow am I the only one who rolls out of bed 5 minutes before I have to log on? Nothing like taking your first meeting while being half-awake
Yes
