What keeps you all motivated to take care of yourself (eating healthy, working out, drinking water, adhering to your skin care routine, etc.), especially in the WFH environment? Any tips for staying consistent? I’m lacking any motivation lately.

Taking care of myself, eating healthy and working out helps me in so many different aspects - controlling my anxiety, good digestion, weight management, hormonal balance, less mood swings! That’s enough to keep me consistent! My advice is - Start small. Instead of trying to eat healthy every day, start with one day a week. Same with working out. Attempting too much change in one go can lead to aversions and going back to old comfortable unhealthy patterns!

Of course! 💕 I usually make a green juice when I’m hungry or if I’m really feeling it a banana almond butter smoothie. Carrots and hummus are a great choice too. I love Siete Foods and stack up on their grain free tortilla chips if I’m really feeling like eating chips.

Honestly? My kids- my dad was only 19 when he had to give his father CPR in his living room when he died from a stroke and I want to do everything in my power to make sure my kids don’t have to experience that. I have no self motivation so no advice there

For healthy eating - mainly from not wanting to get sick and die from a preventable disease. Or feeling and looking horrible when I’m older. I already had cancer once and would like to prevent that from happening again so I have a pretty healthy lifestyle. Going vegan has been great for my health For keeping me active - my dog. It’s such a pleasure to take him on new hikes and walks. He loves exploring so it definitely encourages me to get out more. I also ride my bike because it’s fun so I don’t really need any motivation for that lol

Healthy eating is my biggest challenge! Keeping the focus on overall health and preventable diseases is great advice. I’m so happy to hear you beat cancer 👊🏻

To be honest how crappy I feel when I don’t drink water or when I over indulge in sugar has been the biggest motivation for me. I’ve put habits into my routine like filling up my waterbottle X amount of times during the day — meaning I had a certain amount to drink, finding which foods are filling, yummy but mostly easy to put together (like I could live on Greek yogurt PB, honey & berries). I work from different rooms of my house in the AM (kitchen) vs PM (bedroom) to rejuvenate my flow. I may not always do my skincare in the AM but if I miss it I’ll just do it midday to have a break for work. The other part of the motivation comes from finding what I like to eat/drink/types of exercise and making sure if REALISTICALLY fits in my routine. I also don’t beat myself up for not being perfect. That’s literally life. To find what works best for you does take awhile but you get to explore lots of new things along the way which can help ignite some motivation (ie doing hiit workouts for a couple weeks then trying yoga or weight lifting and maybe you like a combination of them all instead just one)

I’m 34 and look like I’m 24. That’s all the motivation I need to keep eating healthy, working out, and keeping up with a good skincare routine.

Letting myself gravitate toward the movement or things that feel good to me and learning to listen to my body more. I’ve primarily switched to long walks (2-5 miles per day 5-7 days per week) with my dog as my exercise and focus on keeping my favorite fruits and veggies around alongside my other favorites, and it makes it more enjoyable so I want to do it. Also my dog gets me out on walks many days I might not have gone, so it’s a win win for us both.

I had also been leaving motivation, and I started doing a bullet journal a few months ago (for a lot of reasons) - using a monthly habit tracker has really helped me to get into the rhythm of consistently doing things like nighttime eye/face cream. The key is you need to update it every day or it won't help you to build and assess what habits work for you and what don't.
