What kind of fitness goals do you all have? I’m trying to think of creative things to motivate myself (bike 30 miles, go on a challenging hike, etc)

1 unassisted pull-up. 😂 As a woman, though, this one is tough. I’m more interested in aesthetics, but strength goals come in a close second. It’s fun to see strength gains.

like

Same! I wanted to be able to do 1 push up and then 1 pull up. Push up is almost there. Pull up related exercises are getting started.

I keep it simple. Workout 5-6 days a week. 2 days yoga, 4 days lifting with 30 min of incline treadmill with healthy eating (nothing crazy - healthy eating during the week, no booze Sunday-Thursday, no crazy bad binge eating on weekends). Have been doing this consistently since the beginning of the year and down about 12 lbs and lot leaner/stronger

Hike the W trek (general fitness, planning for early 2022, should be doable as long as I'm good about longer weekend day hikes)
1,000 pound club (lifting, and have a long ways to go)

Edit - I had a long list of endurance goals. Multiple marathons, triathlons, distance swims. I needed goals that I could accomplish in < 10 hours a week of training and wouldn’t degrade my body as much as those.

Being able to lift a certain amount, or incline walk for a certain distance within x time, or go x number of days without coffee and sugary food/drinks.

Long-term goal is fitting into specific pair of jeans I have and being able to do 12 pull-ups on my own without any breaks.

I add a bunch for the year some with specific dates. Others for duration.

Eg. Workout 250x/year
Hit a target weight by start of summer.
Hit a target weight by thanksgiving.
Do a certain number of pull-ups (my nemesis).

I’ve gotten a discretionary bonus every year as an associate until last year. This also happens to be my first full year on anti-anxiety medication. Can’t help but think the firm was rewarding my anxious behavior, perfectionism, and such. But of course, now I’m happier. Anyone else notice a correlation between their level of anxiety and success/pay at work?

Any attorneys here with ADHD/ADD? I was recently diagnosed ADHD, but it was clear I had it my whole life. It did not materially hinder me until law school, and now it’s pretty debilitating as an associate. Since I have been medicated, some executive functioning has been better but it’s really hit or miss. Anyone have any success stories? Would in-house be easier to manage as there is less executive functioning (ie no timekeeping and billing)? I appreciate any response in advance. Thanks!

Anyone combine ADHD meds with Nootropics? I do a lot of work in the startup/VC community and it seems everyone in that world is obsessed with nootropics. They have private message boards, meetups, etc., just to discuss the topic. I know at least a half dozen companies that have very active Slack channels on the topic where everyone from the CEO on down debates various cocktails, programs, brands.

Am I missing something? Last I read the research was VERY inconclusive.
