I now work for a smaller law firm as the only social person managing 5+ brand related accounts. We (finally) hired a social person to help me! She’s fresh out of college and starts next week. Hello! I talked with a recruiter at GAP Solutions Inc. about a Clinical Advisor position in Rockville, Maryland and asked for a range of 125-135k and I got a written message that if all goes well, they can give me 125k. Typical! Research shows the average salary as 151k and I'd like to push for closer to 140k. Do I keep my mouth shut until after the interview or do I say something now? I don't want to dissuade them but I also don't want to waste time. I make about $110k now.

I'm a new first year associate, almost two weeks in. Have to ask: is it normal to have almost no idea what's going on? I know my teams view me as completely clueless (which is 100% accurate), but whenever I ask for an explanation/they go over something with me, I'm still left feeling like they're speaking a different language. Downtime during Project Lifecycles.

We all know that when projects are planned and resourced properly/efficiently, the team knows exactly what they’re doing and the clients don’t scope creep, there will be periods of downtime for PMs. This is usually a good thing because that means a project is moving smoothly.

Also a bad thing because most of us PMs can’t sit still because we’re doers by nature. During these periods, how do you typically fill up your day to keep busy?

Also have hands-on experience on Cisco Packet Tracer, Active Directory, Checkpoint Firewall, Splunk, Alien Vault OSSIM, Crowdstrike & Amazon AWS EC2.
I also know basic Linux commands & PowerShell scripting.

How many times should you reach into to a recruiter before giving up? I reached out once and she said she will let me know and I interviewed going on 2 weeks.

So I applied for a position & received feedback from the hiring manager stating that the position that I applied for was filled internally but they would like consider me for another position. So I interviewed and two days later, I was offered the position. Went through a background check & negotiated salary. It’s been almost 2 months and they stated that the delay is due to internal HR issues since the dept director did not create a new job requisition for the job they offered me. Thoughts?
