Hi folks, having a rather interesting situation. Have landed offers from both Microsoft and AWS. Microsoft is paying slightly less than AWS. I have good experience in Microsoft technologies and cloud so have some bias for choosing them. However, both roles are within the cloud sales and architecture - like a senior solutions architect enabling sales. Thoughts?

I’m feeling stuck. I work in marketing for a real estate firm, but realistically my job includes creating all digital and print collateral for our agents (brochures, social media posts, print/digital ads, postcards etc.) I am ready to start looking for a new job because there is no growth for me but I feel like I really don’t have any hands on marketing expertise( strategy or analytics for ex) . I don’t feel qualified for any of the jobs I want to apply to but I really need a better paying job.

What are some smart things to talk about during interview with UX director? Or what type of ux questions should I expect? I'm visual designer interviewing for product design..

Recently a high powered individual scolded me for killing a tone deaf pride idea, because I said, “As an lgbtq person, I feel ____.” Allegedly that phrasing wouldn’t allow others to feel like they could state their opinions on the idea. I was extremely upset but didn’t want to burn a bridge so I listened to their feedback and tried to let it go. But I haven’t really let it go - it was demoralizing and insulting...and quite frankly I’m angry I let them get away with it. What would you do?

Any tips or suggestions on what kind of questions to ask during an informal coffee chat with an employee of the company I'll be applying to? This person is not on the hiring team, but it's a small company so I'm sure they'll talk with the hiring team after.

This would a fairly significant career switch for me after being at my current company for just over 10 years (with ~100 employees) to join a newish but profitable small company with only 13 employees.

Thanks!

Hello wonderful people! I am in a process of getting a paid for certification and I’m stuck in between 2 options - Salesforce Admin od Data Analytics. I am a Project Coordinator and my last big project was integration of a system where my main focus was to make it work for our company needs. I want to make a pivot and go into data analytics but I also find Salesforce admin interesting. If you work in any of those 2, please share some advice to help me make a choice. Truly appreciate it!

I'm seriously thinking of changing companies and careers after almost 20 years. I do not dislike where I am. I have many great colleagues there, and know the inner workings quite well. I've had multiple different careers within it.

I'm currently working as an electrical designer in the MEP industry. I really don't like it and I'm working towards a career change which I'm actively applying for and getting certified etc. However, it's been a slow process and I'm currently underpaid where I am so would it be wise to make a lateral move to another MEP firm simply because they offer me more money while I still look for a different job separate from this field? Or just tough it out?
