Oh yea the title bump has intangible value. That way for your next job, you’ll be recruiting at a higher pay band. Also 18% increase is a good amount.

I have a pretty cushy job and it would take at least 25% more to get me to leave, but I’m at the point where I’ve bought a house and feel fairly comfortable so wlb is not important to me. Even 3-4 years ago it would have taken a smaller increase.

A lot - 30%+ which for me is equivalent to much more than many in this bowl make all in. But I do have days where I dream of a more junior, less lucrative position with good WLB.

Honestly - don’t overestimate the value of a job where you feel comfortable and in control of your life. That is very very rare.
Oh hmmm it really depends! Am I in my mid 20s and hungry for more professional development? Then I would jump for even a 20% increase, assuming the new role isn’t 80 hour weeks. But if I were mid career with kids (assuming I have a spouse who makes good money to make us comfortable), then I wouldn’t get out of bed unless it was 40% more.

I wouldn’t say I was “cushy” at my last job, but there is some comfort in the known vs unknown, and I had been there for 5 years and ran a department that I built. It took a 33% salary jump to get me to leave (among some other reasons, but the money was a significant reason). I still think 30%+ is what I’d aim for if I decide to leave my current role.
