What kind of roles can you get with only one year experience in consulting? Is it too early to leave?

I am a mid-level associate in litigation. In law school, I focused on appellate litigation and did exclusively moot court and appellate focused classes (successfully, won several awards if it matters). I am now doing a lot more trial at work than I expected and am feeling out of my element and not as skilled as I would like. Obviously I should have done trial practice/mock trial in law school, but it being too late for that now, any recommendations on what I can do to improve as a trial lawyer?

Hi guys, I am a fresh senior software engineer working in a devops team in a reputed it services firm in India. How many years of experience would it take to get to a manager level in my field. Also, does a manager deal only with managerial aspects of the company or does he deal with the technical aspects and as such has to be technically competent forever ?
