What kind of salary should one expect as a new commercial real estate broker at one of the largest brokerages? Specifically, in the industrial brokerage space. First experience in the commercial brokerage industry with 2.5 years of prior post-grad work experience in supply chain/operations. Was told I will start on salary until I am ready to go 100% commission

Very low. I started in commercial real estate at $30K with 5% split on deals I was involved in being hired at a top firm…you gotta start at the bottom but maybe you’re company will give more! I was also not in industrial so it could be different. A lot less deals with a lot larger payouts.

Hi everyone, I recently accepted an offer at McKinsey (college hire BA). Can anyone tell me what the typical pay progression is? 2nd and 3rd year BAs, then first year EM? If I have a Master’s, would it be worth it to go get an MBA once I’m eligible? Do you think not having one will hinder me as I progress/if I decide to exit to industry? I’ve also seen it mentioned that McKinsey has been cutting back on some of the perks, could anyone go into further detail please? Thank you

Director of Utilization Review salaries

Dear Fish Bowlers!

I need help!

I have an offer from a company where my salary is 30% higher than my current place, and the benefits are great. I'm pretty happy with the overall package , only negative is my 4 weeks vacation will turn into 3. They've already said no to matching my 4 weeks.

I will sign with the company but I wanted some advice on how to negotiate -- if needed at all. Or maybe ideas on what else can be negotiated? They did mention the possibility of stock options later.

I’m unsure what the proper time is to ask for a salary bump.

Backstory:
I joined a top 20 freight brokerage as a pricing analyst about 6 months ago and keep hearing from my direct lead (c-level) that I have basically moved mountains for this new team I joined.

I’ve streamlined processes that has led to lower operational costs as we don’t need to hire ops team members now. With this I have the quantitative data to back it up.

The Way to a Higher Salary? Leave.

If I had stayed in the role I was in originally and grown with it, I’d be making maybe $120k, best case. I also wouldn’t have broken 6-figures in under 4 years by waiting.

The biggest lie that companies tell you is you can grow in a firm, both professionally and financially. The only ones that grow are already the people a) getting the promotions, or b) on the sales side.

If neither applies to you, the fastest way to achieve salary growth is to leave.
