What kind of tax software big 4 firms use?

720 GMAT, undergrad gpa in engineering 3.0 GPA (last 2 years were 3.7 and 3.9 respectively, had a rough intro), followed by a masters in engineering (thesis based), and 3 years at Big 4 advisory. Chance at m7? Strong extracurriculars but worried about undergrad GPA

Has anyone found roles in Big 4 or industry that allowed more work life balance when their kids were young without damaging future career trajectory? I'm a partner with young kids and feel like I'm missing out on too much of their lives. Wishful, but my dream job would have a lighter workload in terms of time and pressure for the next ~5 years, but not set me back too much (or at all) when the kids are older and tired of me in a few years and I'm ready to be back at work full force.

Does anyone have any info on M&A jobs at Google or Facebook? What this pay? And how is it working there as compared to big 4

Do B4 recruiters even put in the effort to look at a candidate before reaching out? I have had soo many B4 recruiters reach out to me for hourly/temp work but I’m a cpa at a mid tier firm. Do B4 really look down on mid tier THAT much that they think we would rather leave mid tier for contract work at B4? 🤨

I just graduated with a Bachelors degree in Accounting with 136 credits. I’m looking to obtain my CPA and am wondering if the MS programs are worth it if I’m only 14 credits shy of the 150 hours requirement. I’m interning with a Big 4 this summer and feel the pressure to stay another year for my masters. If I don’t do it, will it hurt my chances at getting a full time offer?

I moved from B4 to the industry last year to join a new team. My peer is an internal transfer and our roles are pretty complimentary so we have to work together on many areas. Since she joined the team, she has been stepping on my toes. To be continued in the comments.

I was just curious regarding opinions of recruiter cold calls.

As a legal recruiter, my team and I all came from firms employing the traditional model- hundreds of cold calls daily, essentially seeking success via volume. Our firm found this approach to be preposterous- phoning into someone's workplace, during work hours, interrupting flow and actively trying to convince them to leave their job.

Does anyone find these calls to be largely beneficial? Any insights?

I was charged $80 for an ultrasound at a major Manhattan hospital and $4000 for the same thing a year later at another major Manhattan hospital. I didn’t have to pay anything, thanks to great insurance but curious why such a drastic difference for the same thing? Both hospitals are in-network.
