Hi all,
I'm a Senior Copywriter currently working client side and looking to switch to the agency side.
Some background info:
I moved to the US from India about 7 years ago. I have about 7 years of agency side experience in India. However, after moving, I had to start my career from scratch as a Junior Copywriter and took the first opportunity that came my way. Now, with enuf US experience on my resume, I REALLY wanna switch back to agency side. Am I hoping for the impossible? HELP!!
Switch the commercial if you can/want
But there are plenty of partners that have no clearance, it just depends
Switch to state and local? What level clearance have you been applying for, and why are you getting denied?
Booz Allen dm if interested
There are so many agencies that don’t require a clearance. Stay away from anything DoD/DHS/state/Intel etc
Could you pass a background check? Most all fed will require at least that
I can pass a background check, I have a lot of foreign family and my clearance has been taking a very long time to process.
I’m with a DoD client so I’m feeling the pressure to get clearance quickly, but it’s helpful knowing there are opportunities outside this space.
If you are new then it shouldn’t be your responsibility to get on a project. Having family outside the US always delays the process and your firm should’ve realized that before they put you on a project that requires a clearance. Talk to your staffing people and ask them to put you on a project that doesn’t require a clearance
