I left PwC for a smaller public accounting firm that doesn’t have utilization metrics. Founding partner is ex-Arthur Andersen, they’re legit. Sooooo much happier – not having to stress about metrics & being a number compared against my peers is freeing. They aren’t workaholics here either
Me too. I moved to industry and I get to do Provision, research, international stuff ....I love it! I’m learning a lot and I don’t have to worry about timesheet or budgets. The quality of my work is amazing because I don’t have the pressure of the hours. No busy seasons...no working on the weekends...I’m the happiest person now ! OP move to industry when you have the opportunity, you don’t understand!!!!
I’m the same. I hate just having to push out return after return and constantly having to worry about my billable hours vs the budget. I like tax and learning the rules but there’s just no time to learn much in depth. I had an interview with the IRS recently, and have another app in with the state DOR. I think government is really the only way to go if you like tax but want wlb too.
