What LS consulting focus area/niche do you all think will be most in demand, 5 to 7 years from now? And why?

BD / transaction advisory will always be hot. Market access / reimbursement since it will get more and more complicated as pricing pressures inevitably intensify with high cost therapy

🤣🤣🤣

Agree with C1, and I think an additional area of interest as an LS adjacency will be leveraging patient data (omics) for developing new Dx and Tx techniques. There is a lot of legal, privacy, and other issues around this.

Using AI in R&D is another area which is slowly becoming more than just a buzzword. I also personally think that there is a shift coming where the tech is advanced enough that you can pretty much outsource all of your science and just become a patent holder, which will increase consulting demand since these new lean organizations will need the extra capacity

For those of you who made the jump from a firm to in-house, how did you know that’s what you wanted to do? Most importantly, how did you know that it would be a better fit for you than your firm job? I’ve learned this past year that I really don’t enjoy litigation or firm life. It’s been impossible to try to get assignments from other practice groups, to see what else I would like, and I don’t really want to jump to another firm and practice group blindly. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Thanks so much 🥰
