Is PTON done? Buy, hold, or sell?
Hi all, I am looking for some guidance to break into BCG Design department. They have numerous clients, so talking about a particularly client or project will be difficult. But going by the general rule of thumb, would love someone from BCG to layout what this company actually looking for in a Product designer to hire. BCG Digital Ventures

A manager who felt threatened by me.
I had a good annual review. The next two months, i kept throwing flags to my manager that my project wasnt going well due to circumstances outside my control. Out of nowhere in the second month, im put on a call with her and her boss, who wanted to know why no one knew my project was so far behind (…what?). I then “kept missing high priority deadlines” (i met every written deadline within my control, continued to throw flags about things outside my control). Then got fired less than five months after my positive review “because i couldnt meet deadlines”.
That sucks man. Curiously I had a similar story where I almost, but didn’t, get fired. So I had a good annual review. There was talk of promotion. Then I got transferred to a new boss. I got two special assignments from the CTO back to back. The first I told him it would take three months. He told me to do it in three days. I told him I’d see what I could do in three weeks. After three weeks I really only had an outline of the application. It had the basics, but it was a long way off. I was taken off the project officially.
Next I was asked to do consulting because I was the only person in the company with a particular background even though I’ve never consulted. I got my work done on time by the skin of my teeth, but the customer was in a panic because I didn’t communicate to them enough. The awful thing was that I was literally the only person in the company who knew how to do the work, so if internet strangers on forums didn’t answer my questions, I was screwed. I worked a ton of late nights on it.
After this second incident I was called into the VP of Engineering’s office and blasted. He threatened to fire me no less than 25 times. He said I didn’t care about the customer experience and never put in any extra effort. I argued about this and told him to check the building logs. He called me a liar and said he didn’t need to check anything. He said the only reason that he wasn’t firing me was because he honestly believed that I had no idea of how much I was fucking up.
I stuck around and they didn’t fire me. The project that I said would take 3 months took 3 months with two people working on it. I was officially off that project but did it anyway because one of the two people they put on it couldn’t do it. I probably shouldn’t have because people later pointed out that she had done it when I couldn’t. I really should have just quit, but I was so hell bent on showing them that they were full of shit, that I didn’t.
Not me, but one I witnessed.
So this one guy is debugging on this standing desk. He is visibly frustrated; Shaking his fists; growling; tapping his desk anxiously. Suddenly he lets out a loud scream that can be heard across the whole floor. We’re talking seating for like 250 people and most people turn to see the cause of the commotion. Then he grabs both monitors and body slams them to the floor.
He comes to his senses a few seconds later and looks around abashedly as though uncertain what to do next. Then he runs off in a panic and leaves the building for an hour. When he came back he was quickly ushered into his Director’s office and summarily fired then and there.
Thats so wild 😳😳😳
That actually happens in agency? People damn too nice here to do that
It doesn't ?
What were you watching on your work computer?
??
Yes. Ppl get fired at agencies. The sad thing is it’s more common that one gets fired for things like sleeping around than work performance.
Because the manager was incompetent and couldn't help me with anything, then continuously put me on projects that weren't something I had experience with.
