I got mine because I was working for a no-name government contractor for 40k and if got me to about where you are.
Got mine to change career paths and industries. Totally worth it and went from $75k pre MBA to $105k post MBA and then $150k+ within 3 years of graduation. Unless you are switching to strategy or changing trajectory then the benefit won’t be in salary. Instead, you’ll want to go to a top 10 program to focus on networking.
Went from HS to the Army to a post with a three letter acronym agency before getting my undergrad. Went directly to grad school ad the alternative to going to work and to spend the remainder of my GI Bill money before losing it. Can't really say either degree mattered 2 years later.
5 years ago, I was making $120k TC. 4 years ago, I had just entered my part time MBA program and focused on using it as a pivot, which ended up being consulting. When I left my MBA and joined consulting 2 years ago, my forward annual TC was $200k. This past year my TC has been $230k. And I’m 2 months away from going back to industry, where my TC will be $340k.
There are trade offs along the way, but if you’re questioning whether there is an opportunity to increase your total comp substantially, there is. It isn’t guaranteed and it certainly requires hard work and smart positioning, as well as a bit of luck. And you might actually enjoy the journey.
My advise is go into consulting and don’t get an MBA. I did one year in Accounting and went to Consulting. I am 3 years in spent 2 of them at Accenture and now I am going to a t-2 firm making 175k base. You can do a second bachelors for a semester and be considered a campus hire and since you already have a degree they won’t care if you finish or not. that will cost you one semester MBA will cost a lot more. There are other benefits to an MBA this is just what I did

Never got mine, and I haven't looked back. What turned me off was the opportunity cost of giving up 2 years salary in addition to the tuition/books/room/board. Do the math on all that and ask yourself how many years it will take to pay back for a 30k -40 k jump.

Got mine because I had been working abroad and needed a good way to develop a network in the states to get the job I wanted.
Chose my school primarily because of the combination of weather and ranking.
