1) Ability to work across multiple leading firms in an industry vs. being siloed into one
2) People are the product and correspondingly, people are where the investment goes (ideally)
3) Entrepreneurial environment. Consulting was always explained to me as a collective of small businesses
I feel like those were all great taglines during recruiting ... after that, not so much but that’s just my experience so far.
Trade offs between money and travel sun-thurs. If getting off of active duty was to decrease deployment and travel time where you can have a home, be with family, and a comfy bed each night then consulting is not for you. On the other hand consulting is good money. Government consulting can be less travel. What do you value?

What type of work do you want to do?
Money. Smarter people. Dynamic environment.
Fair question. Was with Deloitte post MBA, then left for Cognizant. Paid decent based on experience but don’t work with smarter people any longer at Cognizant.

Money. Project flexibility since I wasn’t sure what I wanted to be when I grew up. Still waiting on that last part to happen.

Money
Rapid growth potential, variety of experience, flexibility / work from home, comparatively high starting salary and pretty good chance of a huge salary in under 10 years, and a strong vet network at the firm when I joined

- I knew that I didn't want to keep on doing the same thing for the next 10 years, so a govt position/contracting was out. That also meant that most companies were out of they didn't have lots of diverse positions
Continuing growth and development after MBA and lots of added credibility and increased career trajectory
I tried a little of everything post Navy, including switching careers.
I stumbled into it by accident via a software vendor. Total luck.
Got into HBS (luck) then heard about the money and growth opps in consulting.
I applied to Columbia Business School and didn’t get in...consulting was the next logical step for not knowing what I really want to do (still don’t)
