I mean the average equity partner makes at least 1 million a year. In theory they could work as an equity partner for 5 years and probably be set for the rest of their lives idk just guessing at this point.
Money is the only reason why anything at a V100 is “worth it”. V50 equity partners make $1m+ per year so any complaints by then about compensation should be taken with a grain of salt.
Condensation complaints from EPs at these firms probably are in comparison to other EPs and not in comparison to what the rest of the firm or society makes.
I would say: a seat at the table and less people who can tell you what to do.
SA1, P1: That depends on the firm. Mine has a system of levels and multiples of gains plus bonus for EPs and a determined amount plus bonus for income partners (US, big law). Magic circle firms work with a point system and if the firm determines that you do not get points you will likely not get more than last year.
