I think because there are plenty of folks who are miserable at their current company and/or about to get the axe
I can see that perspective. I think there’s a big distinction between high performer (top 15%), mediocre performer (middle 70%), and low performer (bottom 15%). People could easily go from low to mediocre or mediocre to high depending on the company they are at but low to high seems difficult imo. But yeah with lots of people wanting to move, higher labor supply will drive the price of labor down.
Recruiters don’t decide. They are only reading out the decisions.
They can’t exceed the limits on their offer, no matter how much they speak out. And at least some of the offers I’m getting are not even in the right stratosphere. I get that they’re just doing their job but whoever is deciding those job offers is clearly out of their depth.

I genuinely think it's about hitting KPIs. When I was actively searching they'd call and hang up. Im sure that contributed to their “calls made” KPI
