Globant India Pvt. Ltd. Hi Globers ! I have an offer from Globant for the role of a BA. While discussing the role with HR pre and post the interviews & offer, I had specifically ask the HR to tag me to Ahmedabad location as that's my hometown and I do not wish to relocate. But she has rolled out the offer for Pune location ane verbally ( isn't giving me in writing ) assured me that the location will be flexible. May I know from the fellow Globers if we have location flexibility or WFH option available? Globant India Pv

Sure, writing good, but also, having been around a project or two. Pre-empt the pitfalls (because you’ve made them) and anticipate needs and next steps. Be able to present your work to whoever you need to present it to. Have a voice. Have a style. But also be utterly flexible. Write upside down if you have to. As soon as you get in a groove, know how to get yourself out of it before it becomes a rut. Know how to talk to juniors that make them want to be better, not ways that make them feel shitty. Lead a project. Multitask. Organize your day. Get sleep. Negotiate. Push back. Go “beyond the brief” when it matters
Depends®
After being a copywriter for 2.5 years, I applied for a Senior Copywriter job. They said ok.
Honestly, playing the game. You can get incredibly far In this business by being a mediocre writer, staying positive, and kissing ass.
But also depends on the agency.
Do more than write. Lead ideas. Structure presentations. Provide thoughtful design feedback. Jump in to help, even when a writer wasn’t asked for but because you’re smart and can do it.
The moment I was promoted was the moment my GCD decided to sit in on a client meeting with me selling in work. Sure as a copywriter you gotta know how to write headlines, a script, a social post, etc, but beyond anything else you need to know how to lead a project and sell work.
Earning the trust of your CD. Being able to take a project and run with it, interface with clients without anyone holding your hand, think beyond the brief, improve with feedback, and consistently perform above your pay grade.
Or job hop.
Just be competent, show potential and know how to play the political game
@SC3 can you expand on as soon as you get in a groove, get yourself out of it?
Economics. Titles are a form of currency, worth what we agree they're worth, and subject to inflation. The title:salary relationship is inverse (the lesser the title, the higher the salary to maintain value, and vice versa), so as long as a company wants to keep or attract you, they'll need to consider how much you value each and compensate you accordingly. In junior creatives' cases, most opt for title for access to better briefs (ostensibly) and status (actually).
A deeper voice?
Oh, also, spelling and grammar
Knowing how to lead and having a good work ethic help too
Politics and luck.
