I clean my turtle tank every morning. It’s tedious but it has to be done! It gets me away from my phone for awhile and I can think while I’m getting it done. Plus my turt is very thankful. 🤣🐢

Wow! Turtles are like aliens to me! I have yet have to meet a turtle in person. Another way of perceiving gratefulness for eternity! 😂 Other creatures sharing your home surely can demand your full attention :)

Peloton has been a lifesaver during this time! If you’re not an exerciser, then just do a morning walk. We are moving our bodies so little these days.

(1) Coffee + meditation or future self journaling (takes 5 min; google it!)
(2) Daily movement, whether it's a workout, run, yoga - whatever movement is most fulfilling for you. Someone else mentioned Peloton and I couldn't agree more. I love the instructors' energy and the classes' variety.

I leave my phone behind because it's easy to quickly get sucked into emails, social media, etc. and lose focus. This routine takes ~1.5hours.

Right after alarm sounds, not yet really awake, I start with 10 mins of a gratefulness guided meditation for the right attitude in my mind and then get my body moving by adding 30 mins of yoga. Took me a couple of weeks to get this routine going, but boy, I feel so much more awake and ready for the day. :)

I wake up with the sun - fortunately I don't have early meetings.

Headspace is a great service. Another great one is Ten Percent which I am currently using for my mindfulness practice. This particular gratefulness meditation though is from yet a different person. Sometimes mixing up the voice guidance helps to stay focused on the present, too ;)

Also meditation. I try to get in 20 minutes, and I've been using the app Insight Timer for years. It has a free tier and a premium tier with courses, and has a lot more flexibility than other meditation apps I've used!

I bought a treadmill because walking or jogging outside led me to easy excuses about my safety, the cold weather, and appearance! I put it on my porch rather than inside LOL.

So far it has worked to stabilize and invigorate my mood. 30 minutes twice a day.

Meditation. Even if it’s only 5 mins. I do it throughout the day whenever I start feeling like my day is getting away from me.

I like to try to wake up a bit earlier and do a quick yoga session or stretch, don’t even have to stream it but just listen to your body and move it how you need to. Nothing too crazy. It’s important to try and practice mindfulness and gratitude- that even if things aren’t going well for you, you at least woke up, are healthy, and have a roof over your head! Then, I spend my mornings with coffee and a hearty breakfast (protein oatmeal and berries usually, with a loooota choc chips and almond butter, it’s like a morning dessert) and try to keep this time phone and computer free :))

Wake up at 6:30 AM, get a workout in, and then head into my day. Just started this routine about 3 months ago (was previously working out after work around 6pm) and this has changed my mindset and energy levels.

This is interesting to hear because I always workout at 6pm. So hard to make the switch for me lol.

I make MudWTR every morning, a really life-changing coffee alternative with Lion’s mane and other super beneficial ingredients. Then I consume it while looking outside my balcony at the mountains far away without checking my phone. Then I try to do some stretching/yoga. I use the app called AloMoves. I follow one of the videos from Dylan Werner because they’re not so long (with long ones it’s easy to find an excuse to not do it).
Check out Dylan’s True Flexibility videos that are yin-focused, perfect for mornings when you don’t wanna move much but want to ease the tension in your body and follow your breath. Another favorites are his Plasticity and Elasticity videos for the mornings I am more goal-oriented with my flexibility. Doing one video makes me feel like I accomplished something already, which then in turn helps me accomplish more work-related things throughout the day. Some mornings, if I feel like it, I do his The Breath Sequence series, which has videos for different purposes (memory, gratitude, letting go etc). So grateful for him and the app. Really helps in these tough times. Definitely check those out if you get a chance :)

I’ve also struggled getting up earlier - much more of a night owl. To not set myself up for failure I’ve just been slowly getting up 5 minutes earlier each day.

But even doing that for a little I’m up about 45 min earlier in the morning and that gives me time to listen to my favorite daily podcasts, take my time making coffee and breakfast and then I light a candle and read for a little bit before officially ‘signing on’ for the day.

It’s been really nice and I didn’t realize how much I needed a little alone time to myself - being at home with my husband nonstop as an introvert kind of feels like I don’t have much time to recharge these days.

I'm a major night owl, so I am completely useless first thing in the morning. What's helped me is first accepting that the advice for people who are more morning-capable than me (like, get up and do all these things before you have to work) don't work for me. The second thing is trying to make my environment push me toward waking up. Right now my coffee pot is directly next to my bed and if I set it up the night before that makes it way easier for me to get it and start drinking it. I also need to get myself talking and thinking as soon as possible. For example, I used have my mom or my boyfriend call me and chat for like 30 minutes every day when I needed to get up. This would force me start thinking and be awake in order to get going.
