I'm not going to pretend like I'm happy with my comp, because I make $300k and I still want to make a lot more. However, as P1 says let's have some perspective here. $150k is an unfathomable dream salary for most people. Anyone in consulting has a "high paying" job. It's a matter of degrees.
Depends on city. Generally 250+
Given that median personal income in the US aim 2016 was $31K; everything 2x and more above that is high-paying
Anything above the median, so $55k or so
250k+
Anything above a quarter mill (you still have to pay for taxes)
150k
200k is the lower end of high paying jobs
Upper middle class ends at 250K so that is a good starting point
$120+
300k "take home" and I would feel like I made it
100k
Once you are ineligible for overtime, you've hit the "high paying" mark.
More than I make
P2 - is it because of taxes?
That's a st year partner money, 300k takehome
75k
P2 - understanding that we all have different preferences, what is it that makes you unhappy with 300K? And what is the figure that will make you happy?
250K
