What % of people in federal get a clearance for their project? I want one for my career path after consulting, wonder if switching into federal to get it now would help job opportunities later.

Depends on what market, for defense or intelligence work it is very high...if you want to be a fed why even mess with consulting?

Many paths to a fed career and consulting is one of them. Skills here are very applicable there. In private sector cyber strategy and applying to political science masters. What’s the best way to network into one of those accounts?

Not sure about PwC but getting into fed work is usually super easy, the issue is finding interesting fed work that isn’t staff aug (most is)

I have a public trust clearance and had no problems with lots of opportunities at Booz Allen. Secret/top secret are more important for defense/intel work. It can be hard to find someone to sponsor your clearance, though. Lots of clients want cleared staff but are unwilling to take on the expense and time of sponsoring a clearance. If you really want a clearance best bet is to try To get a project in the defense/intel market and (even if it’s a project you’re not super excited about) since that will give you the highest likelihood of getting sponsored for a clearance.

What's the most effective way for a small RIA to recruit FAs who have a few years experience, want to break away from large/corporate firms? I'm a $70M fee-only (commissions for insurance) independent RIA with a generous comp schedule that enables FAs to own their own book while they grow. As the owner, my focus is to help FAs succeed; as a firm, our focus is on client service and helping them succeed. I can afford a small salary, but not benefits. I'm especially interested in female FAs.

I have been approached with an opportunity at JP Morgan Chase for their private client advisor role. The book is about 30M all in. I am currently an experienced hybrid asset manager wholesaler and have experience in advising as well. Curious about the opportunity with JPM and if it’s worth it. I currently make about 160k and if JPM would give me a high draw for the first 3 years to build, and if it’s feasible to sustain that 160+ there.

Thoughts on CAIA? Difficulty, hours studied, study tips, overall experiences, etc.? I’ll be sitting for Level 1 in September. Currently work in the fund of funds space - moving over to my firm’s hedge fund research team soon so CAIA seemed like a perfect way to get knowledge in the area beforehand. I’m almost one year out of undergrad (econ background) so a lot of the CAIA content is new to me

Is it common in the industry for licensed insurance agents to not get any commissions on a referral in which you personally write the policy? Ex: If a current client refers a prospect to our team, I would not receive commission. Additionally, if I write a policy for friends/family I would get a small incentive but it’s a fraction of the commission producers make.
Management is considering changing this going forward. However, I’m not sure how I should react if they keep things how they are now.

Any advice on dealing with a particularly critical client? I’m confident in the work I and my partners do. I think we add value and are great at what we do. I have a client who just attacks everything I do and goes to my boss at the drop of a hat. I’m starting to experience significant anxiety every time I see an email from this person. This morning I woke up to another critical email to my boss with a copy to me. I’m at a loss and now questioning my work and concerned about my job.

I received an offer for 80k to work as a desktop engineer for TCS at one of their client’s locations. However, I have seen poor reviews for working at TCS and I’d like to get some feedback from anyone currently or had previously worked for that company. What is the environment like and has anyone been in a situation where the contract with TCS and the client ended and had trouble with TCS finding them a new role at the same pay?

Assuming that I'm okay with a salary of 70K and more, and that I really don't want to work at a law firm. Is it going to be difficult for me to return to law with two years of experience and one year working in a legal adjacent role.

I have to travel to my client every week and the client’s office is attached to a very nice hotel that’s $250 per night. There’s a hotel right across the street that’s $150 per night.. it’s alright, but not as great. Should I be mindful about how much I’m spending or should I blow up the budget until someone says something?

Just wanted to know how difficult it is to get leaves approved and officially before how many days do i need to inform my manager?

Is there any SOP for applying leaves at Infy?
