6% now to get the 1.5% Ey match. I put additional money in a Roth IRA that I can have more options to invest

like

I put 6% because that's what EY matches.

like

Ups to 50% (of your 6%... So 3%) at the manager level. Not sure how the "new retirement plan" affects that

like

10%. Will increase by 25% of my raise each year (e.g. If 8% raise, will take out 2% and new withholding will be 12%). I'll keep this going until it's a pretty high %

like

What does ey match ?

like

Just changed mine to zero and took the real dollar terms towards my student loans

like

15%. Moving to 20 or 25% when raise kicks in. Pre-tax deferral

EY matches 1/4th of your contribution up to 6%. So max of 1.5%

6% to get the full match, then max out HSA and Roth

Doesn't change for the new retirement plan except now they match you each paycheck instead of only in january

6% only for company match

6% for the match.

20% plus max out HSA and ROTH

10% to 401k and max a Roth. Anything left over after bills and discretionary spending goes into a brokerage account or cash savings account depending on what my short term savings goals are.

13%

So why do we not tax wealth? We know you can drive benefits from just having "wealth" even if you never realize the gains from property or shares.

Indexed Universal Life Insurance (IUL) - Anyone have one of these ? Never heard of this until the other day when a financial planner mentioned it. He said it’s a better vehicle than 401K. I took what he said with a grain of salt because he was trying to acquire customers, but I haven’t heard anyone talk about it here. At a quick glance it seems pretty solid. Anyone have experience ? Pros/Cons ? Something to add on including the standard 401K, Roth, HSA, etc ?

Looking at making a move from a top 20 city to PNW farm style living. Work from home permanently and live peacefully. I'd be close enough to SEA that I'd be able to make it work if I had to (ie if remote ops reversed course) Anyone thinking similar or already done so? Also, has anyone sold their house to an institutional buyer? Obviously, you may get less cash, but it will also take longer to sell, so you are paying holding costs, etc and taking on more market risk.
